FP&A Analyst

About the role

Semgrep is looking for a data-driven FP&A Analyst to join our expanding Finance team and help scale our financial operations through our Series D growth phase. This role combines traditional FP&A responsibilities with heavy emphasis on data analysis, automation, and systems optimization. You'll leverage SQL, Python, GSheets and modern BI tools to transform how we approach financial planning, reporting, and strategic analysis across our high-growth SaaS business.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable recommendations that drive strategic decisions. Location expectations:

• Our expectation is that this role will be based in our San Francisco office, 2x/week.

What you’ll do

• Lead monthly forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis alongside our FP&A Manager and VP of Finance
• Build scalable models and dashboards that combine financial, product, and operational data
• Dive into root cause analysis in areas like GTM to deliver insights and reporting that help guide strategic decisions
• Partner across departments to understand returns and performance of their business, align planning with goals, and support key initiatives
• Automate and optimize FP&A processes with complex analysis using SQL, Python, and BI tools
• Improve and adapt our planning systems to support Semgrep’s next phase of growth

You are ideal for this role if you have:

• Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or similar
• 1–3+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or analytical roles (ideally in SaaS or tech)
• Ability to distill complex data into clear, strategic insights for stakeholders
• A collaborative mindset, organized work style, and passion for data-informed decision-making
• Strong SQL and Excel skills; familiarity with Python and BI tools a plus (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience with financial planning platforms (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan) a plus
