The Senior Manager, Global Category Commercialization is responsible for developing, implementing and communicating Disney Publishing’s global category strategies for select categories, partners, and pivotal initiatives. This individual will work with the Director, Global Category Commercialization to form global publishing relationships, communicate global strategies and lead key strategic projects with a direct revenue impact for Disney Publishing. The ideal candidate is naturally curious about global markets and has a curiosity about finding ways to grow a business. This role will lead all relationships across regions and territories as Disney Publishing builds global strategies.

The Senior Manager, Global Commercialization will report to the Director, Global Commercialization Strategy of Disney Publishing Worldwide.

Responsibilities/You Will:

  • Drive the growth of categories globally by working across regions to find opportunities, align strategies, provide guidance and unblock obstacles as needed

  • Understand global financials, drivers and partnerships to identify risks, roadblocks and find opportunities

  • Collaborate on the creation of global category strategy with an understanding of market data, insights from regional leads and strong business acumen

  • Lead key global expansion programs including understanding standard processes and driving communication between regional businesses

  • Identify materials and tools needed by regions to grow the business and guide key stakeholders to deliver these tools

  • Build relationships and partner with cross lines of business on projects that drive revenue for The Walt Disney Company understanding Disney Publishing’s commercial strategies to enhance profits

  • Serve as a commercial expert across the organization by sharing strategies and aligning with cross line of business partners

  • Ensure accurate execution of plans globally, while supervising success and evolving plans as needed

  • Act as a project manager for key projects globally, including operational projects to improve global efficiencies

  • Serve as a point of contact/subject matter expert on global category questions related to systems and process, while integrating commercial strategy. Align key stakeholders and communicate next steps as needed

  • Build clear, concise materials to communicate strategies to Senior executives in and across the Disney Publishing organization

Basic Qualifications/You Have:

  • 10+ years in relevant business development, licensing, strategy, or similar field

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills – diplomacy and interpersonal skills are a necessity

  • Global perspective and a desire to build global relationships

  • Understanding of licensing business models and relationships

  • A strong financial acuity and the ability to apply critical thinking and flexible models to partnerships

  • Upbeat, highly organized, efficient, proactive, and adaptable

  • Critical attention to detail, accuracy, and design

  • Solid understanding of Keynote and Excel

  • Ability to lead multiple projects at any given time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Publishing and/or digital publishing industry experience

  • Understanding of publishing rights models

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $124,900.00 to $167,500.00 per year and in New York is $130,800.00 to $175,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account of internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
