Job Description

The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for running monthly payroll for multiple EMEA countries, ensuring all statutory requirements and labour laws are met, and collaborating with various teams. They will manage employee queries, improve processes for accuracy and efficiency, maintain data integration, support audits and special projects, and own ad hoc tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely payments for employees across the EMEA region. This is a key role in ensuring our employees across the EMEA region are paid accurately and on time and that our processes scale as quickly as we do. The candidate should be passionate about payroll, unafraid of spreadsheets, and ready to bring their A-game to a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
Must have:
  • 5+ years’ experience in EMEA payroll in a high-growth environment.
  • Solid understanding of regional tax and reporting regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple country payrolls simultaneously.
  • Experience with ADP Celergo and Workday.
  • High level of integrity when handling confidential data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Clear communicator and team collaborator.

  • Experience with Globalization Partners or Deel.
  • Love driving process improvements and spotting inefficiencies.
  • Enjoy geeking out over payroll accuracy.

Our Opportunity

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-obsessed Senior Payroll Specialist to join our fast-growing Finance team in Romania. This is a key role in ensuring our employees across the EMEA region are paid accurately and on time and that our processes scale as quickly as we do. You’ll be the payroll expert for countries including the UK, Germany, France, Romania, and beyond, while helping us level up automation, compliance, and employee experience.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Running monthly payroll for multiple EMEA countries.
  • Ensuring all statutory requirements and labour laws are met.
  • Collaborating with People, Benefits, and Accounting teams.
  • Managing employee queries through Workday tickets within SLAs.
  • Continuously improving processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintaining and auditing data integration between Workday and payroll systems.
  • Supporting audits and special projects across Payroll and Finance.
  • Signing off payroll tasks and validations in FloQast.
  • Owning ad hoc tasks with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years’ experience in EMEA payroll within a high-growth environment.
  • Solid understanding of regional tax and reporting regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple country payrolls simultaneously.
  • Experience with ADP Celergo and Workday.
  • High level of integrity when handling confidential data.
