As an Engineering Manager for the Online Store platform at GoDaddy, you will lead a team building secure, scalable, and high-impact services for businesses globally. This role involves mentoring engineers, refining architecture, and delivering results. Key responsibilities include leading and growing the engineering team, building and scaling backend systems with strong frontend integration, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and crafting the tech roadmap. The role requires hands-on experience in Node.js, microservices, APIs, full-stack development (React, Next.js), and cloud expertise, while embracing innovation and continuous learning.
Must have:
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Strong technical foundation in Node.js and related technologies.
  • Hands-on cloud expertise including AWS and CI/CD pipelines.
  • A team-first demeanor and strong communication skills.

As an Engineering Manager for our Online Store platform, you’ll lead a passionate team building secure, scalable, and high-impact services that power real businesses around the globe.

You’ll wear multiple hats—from mentoring engineers to refining architecture to delivering meaningful results. Are you excited to craft the future of e-commerce tech while lifting your team up along the way?

  • Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, setting goals, mentoring developers, and encouraging a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

  • Build and scale resilient backend systems with strong frontend integration—focusing on automation, observability, security, and testing.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and data teams to bring ambitious ideas to life and deliver real customer value.

  • Craft the tech roadmap by driving backend strategies, adopting scalable architecture, and evaluating new technologies to stay ahead of the curve.

Your experience should include...

  • Proven leadership experience, with 1+ years managing engineering teams and 3+ years in a technical leadership role across 8+ years of development work.

  • Strong technical foundation in Node.js, microservices, APIs, and full-stack development (React, Next.js).

  • Hands-on cloud expertise, including AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.

  • Excited by challenges—whether it’s untangling legacy code or scaling a new service.

  • A team-first demeanor and strong communication skills.

You might also have...

  • Experience with multiple tech stacks (e.g., Ruby, Go), AI technologies.

  • Familiarity with platform re-architecture or modernization efforts.
