About the team and the role:

eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA

What you will accomplish:

Job Duties: Design new software applications and features focused on the quality and efficiency of search engine optimization (SEO). Use big data processing systems to help with eBay’s site-facing services that answer billions of requests through front-end experience. Research, analyze, design, develop, and test the solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Deliver high-quality development of Java applications that integrate with backend systems. Provide documentation of code systems and support of production applications and ensure code quality and maintainability by evolving architecture and tech stack, refactoring, standards and improving build and test systems. Develop test automation code for software and perform functional and non-functional testing including web accessibility, product app security, server-side load and performance, and client-side page speed. Document defects and work with the software development team to prioritize and troubleshoot. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1.    Experience with Java (3 years).
2.    Experience working with agile development methodologies (3 years).
3.    Experience developing web applications using RESTful APIs (2 years).
4.    Experience using version control, continuous integration, and test pyramid (2 years). 
5.    Experience debugging and performance tuning (2 years). 
6.    Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (2 years).
7.    Experience with Spring Framework (2 years).
8.    Experience with Javascript (2 years). 
9.    Experience with ReactJS (2 years).
10.    Experience with Spark and HiveQL (1 year).
11.    Experience with object-oriented design (1 year). 

Salary range: $199,534.00-$262,900.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
