Job Description

As a Senior UX Researcher at Wizards of the Coast, you will lead research projects to understand consumer needs and behaviors, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods (usability testing, interviews, surveys, behavioral analytics). You'll translate data into compelling narratives that drive product improvements and collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers. Responsibilities include developing scalable research practices, advocating for user needs within product strategy, and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of UX research experience with digital products, a proven ability to influence product strategy with research findings, and strong communication skills.

As a Senior UX Researcher, you’ll uncover deep insights about our customers and help create experiences they love. Your work will directly influence product direction, ensuring our web and mobile apps, as well as our internal tools, meet user needs in intuitive and meaningful ways.

 

In this role, you’ll use a mix of qualitative and quantitative research to drive strategy, guide product decisions, and improve the overall user experience. You'll collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure research findings turn into actionable improvements. What You’ll Do

  • Lead research projects to uncover consumer needs, behaviors, and challenges.
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative methods, such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, and behavioral analytics.
  • Turn data into compelling stories that inspire product improvements.
  • Partner with designers, product managers, and engineers to integrate research into decision-making.
  • Develop scalable research practices, making insights accessible across teams.
  • Advocate for our customers, ensuring their voices shape product strategy.
  • Mentor and support team members in best research practices.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in UX research, working with digital products.
  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • A track record of influencing product and business strategy with research.
  • The ability to communicate complex insights simply and persuasively.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with design, product, engineering, and data teams.
  • A passion for making research insights engaging, actionable, and accessible.
  • Proficiency in research tools like UserTesting, Qualtrics, Google Analytics, or similar.

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range: $87,800
  • Pay Range End: $147,000
