Job Description

Zelis is modernizing the healthcare financial experience in the United States. As an Associate SRE Engineer, you will utilize superior knowledge and exposure to perform highly complex product testing, systems analysis, research, maintenance, configurations, and other testing activities. You will play a key role in the development of work teams and participate in cross-team planning. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing metrics, partnering with development teams, participating in system design, creating sustainable systems through automation, balancing feature development with reliability, participating in blameless postmortems, overseeing and optimizing AWS infrastructure, triaging issues, advising teams on automation and reliability, leading performance testing, measuring system health, engagement in capacity planning, managing the CI/CD pipeline, documenting tribal knowledge, troubleshooting production issues, researching automation, supporting deployments, and building monitoring for the S365 stack. You will also take part in on-call rotation for production support and work closely with the software development team.
Must have:
  • Gathering and analyzing metrics from operating systems and applications.
  • Partnering with development teams for rigorous testing.
  • Participating in system design consulting and capacity planning.
  • Creating sustainable systems and services through automation.
  • Participating in blameless postmortems for resilience improvements.
  • Triaging, routing, and resolution of issues and incidents.
  • Measurement, monitoring, and reporting of system health.
  • Managing CI/CD pipeline for software releases.
  • Documentation of tribal knowledge to reduce silos.
  • Researching and implementing automation for infrastructure management.
  • Building uptime, latency, and error monitoring.
  • Exposure to API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Understanding of automation tools such as Java, Selenium, C#, or Python.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development principles.

  • Oversight and optimization of AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code.
  • Advising and guiding other organizational teams on automation and reliability.
  • Leading load and performance testing exercises.
  • Engagement in demand forecasting and software performance analysis.
  • Supporting deployments across development, UAT, and production environments.
  • Troubleshooting production issues related to S365 products.
  • Writing queries to extract data for test case data comparison.

Position Overview

As an SRE (Site reliability engineer) , you will utilize superior knowledge and exposure to perform highly complex product testing, systems analysis, research, maintenance, configurations, and other testing activities. You will also play a key role in the development of work teams with good team player skills. You will also be involved in cross-team planning activities such as providing status updates and coordinating activities.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

 

 

  •  Gathering and analyzing metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.  
  • Partnering with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures. 
  • Participating in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning. 
  •  Creating sustainable systems and services through automation.  
  • Balancing feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives. 
  • Participating in blameless postmortems to identify resilience and reliability improvements. 
  • Oversight and optimization of AWS infrastructure using configuration management and infrastructure-as-code best practices.   
  •  Triaging, routing, and resolution of issues and incidents identified by both internal and external stakeholders.   
  • Advising and guiding other organizational teams with a focus on automation, maintainability, reliability, performance, and security. 
  • Leading, advising, and analyzing load and performance testing exercises to identify performance bottlenecks and breakpoints, and determine infrastructure needs accordingly. 
  • Measurement, monitoring, and reporting of availability, latency, and overall system health based on SLIs/SLOs/SLAs. 
  • Engagement in capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and systems tuning. 
  • Managing the CI/CD pipeline and migration of client software releases through QA, UAT, and production environments to ensure high-quality, on time delivery of all dependencies. 
  • Documentation of tribal knowledge to reduce knowledge silos and reliance on institutional memory to support and maintain reliable systems. 
  • Triaging and troubleshooting production issues related to our S365 products. 
  • Researching and implementing ways to automate the management of our infrastructure and toil. 
  • Supporting deployments across our growing development, UAT, and production environments. 
  • Building out uptime, latency, and error monitoring for the S365 stack. 
  • Participating in blameless postmortems for incidents. 
  • Taking part in on-call rotation for production support     .
  • Works closely with software development team (Business Analysts, Developers & other testers) to ensure timely and effective testing effort. 

 
Writing queries to extract data for test case data comparison. 


Exposure and basic understanding with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar. 
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. 
Understanding in any one of the automation such as Java, selenium, C-sharp or Python. 
Proficiency in SQL and scripting. 
Understanding of Agile/Scrum development principles.
