This Business Program Manager role at Microsoft involves identifying, defining, and designing opportunities to support or develop new programs or improve existing ones. As a Business Program Manager, you will identify, define and design opportunities to support and/or develop new programs or improve current programs. You will define the program strategy including gathering requirements, understanding business strategies and priorities and program risks and mitigation plans. You will advocate for and demonstrate the value of the program through clearly defined metrics in order to gain buy in from stakeholders, partners and customers. You will also monitor programs to ensure all activities align with program objectives and ensures program processes are executed efficiently including change management and/or program improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree (or currently pursuing).

Business Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and contributes to performing program landscape research and analysis (e.g., internal and/or external market, sales, delivery), forecasting, and examining business trends (e.g., customer feedback and expectations) to identify audience size and program scope, and stay current, agile, and competitive.
  • Collaborates with others to understand overall business goals, objectives, and strategies, as well as short- and long-term business priorities. Understands and identifies current program risks, impact, and mitigation plans in collaboration with others.
  • Works with others to evangelize programs to stakeholders, partners, and customers to gain buy in. Leverages data and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]) to demonstrate the value of the program and show business impact with minimal guidance. Begins to adapt communication style and storytelling strategy according to audience and business needs.
  • Assists others who overlook a portfolio of projects including the project plan, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and/or resource needs for programs. Communicates the program status to relevant stakeholders and holds them accountable for following the established schedule, and risk mitigation plans and processes, with minimal guidance.
