World Relief is seeking a Communications Coordinator to empower refugees and immigrants in Spokane to share their stories, assist in engaging the community for fundraising, and promote the services offered by the Spokane office. The role involves creating and delivering communications across various platforms, serving as a liaison with local media, and supporting fundraising campaigns. The organization focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening, and refugee & immigrant services, driven by a mission to boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church.
Must have:
  • Minimum 2 years experience in communications and marketing
  • Mature personal Christian faith

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.

Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.


This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Communications Coordinator is the chief storyteller, responsible for: - empowering refugees & immigrants in Spokane to tell their stories (storytelling) - assisting the CCE team in engaging the community to partner with World Relief (fundraising) - assisting with marketing & promotion of the services and programs offered by the Spokane office (marketing)

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Storytelling
  • Tell the World Relief Spokane impact through the stories of refugees and volunteers and invite people to engage
  • Educate about issues   
  • Empower & invite immigrants and former refugees to share their stories
  • Create and deliver communications streams via print, email, web, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to different categories of constituents on appropriate schedules
  • Be the primary liaison with local media outlets
  • Fundraising
  • Help write & design fundraising campaigns in-person and online
  • Assist other team members to raise funds by providing materials in support of their efforts
  • Track communications sent to constituents and results of marketing efforts
  • Work with printers & other providers to distribute fundraising materials
  • Marketing   
  • Assist other team members in promoting outreach efforts and advertising the services of World Relief Spokane to the larger immigrant community
  • Work with the outreach coordinator to utilize digital platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram to communicate with clients & former clients about services offered to them
  • Work with printers & other providers to distribute fundraising materials.
  • Track communications sent to constituents and results of marketing efforts
