The Magic: The Gathering Franchise team is looking for a Director, Global Franchise Strategy, a new role on the team. You will own the global brand strategy and planning for a new era of Magic: The Gathering shifting into a cross-platform play and entertainment franchise.

 

This role is perfect for a senior-level brand strategist who has created, nurtured and driven innovative brand-level thinking that brings strategy to life and builds deep brand affinity with new and existing players.

 

What you'll do:

 

CREATE GLOBAL BRAND STRATEGY: Insights-inspired, you will develop our new global brand strategy and target audience prioritization across segments sparking a new era of Magic and fantasy fandom.

 

CRAFT THE BRAND STORY: develop brand positioning, pillars, guidelines, and a compelling brand story that we tell across all vectors. Partner with creative, emerging business and licensing to build new style guides, branding and marketing guides for enterprise-wide deployment.

 

LEAD CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION: Inspire and partner closely with product strategy, product marketing, insights, communications, events, play, emerging business, entertainment, licensing, digital games teams and more across Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast to bring your strategy to life. You will ensure the Magic brand is presented flawlessly across our most important businesses and partnerships.

 

BE THE EXPERT: Know our player segments and define how we are catering to and building affinity with existing and prospective players. Know our competition and ensure we are evolving with the landscape of gaming and entertainment in all vectors.

 

What you'll bring:

 

  • A proven brand leader and strategist (10+ years) in games, live service products, media, entertainment, or an adjacent industry.

  • A self-starter who takes initiative, solves problems, and brings ideas to the table.
  • Ability to drive projects forward within a highly matrixed organization: the ability to provide clear and concise direction/feedback to partners and the ability to influence others to adopt their recommendations.
  • Well-developed verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills. Demonstrates emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to curate and accurately interpret data from multiple sources, leverage data to synthesize a compelling story, and develop actionable recommendations to address business needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, corporate entertainment environment.
  • Ability to multi-task on a variety of projects at any given time and to operate within an organization that conducts business across multiple time zones.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, meet deadlines and be resourceful/flexible.
  • Possess passion and a desire to take on increased responsibilities over time.
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

 

  • Starting Pay Range: $190,594

  • Pay Range End: $321,924
