Job Description

The Lead Accountant will be responsible for handling day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance. This role involves processing invoices, payments, and ensuring adherence to tax regulations, with a strong understanding of Indian taxation laws, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax. The candidate will manage GST filing, TDS returns, and other statutory compliance, while assisting in audits. Strong analytical skills are required to collect, organize, and analyze information with attention to detail. The candidate will also need to present financial information clearly and work independently and as part of a team.
Must have:
  • Handle day-to-day accounting operations

Position Overview

Addition to the India Accounting Team

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance 

  • Monthly GL Reconciliation  

  • Process invoices, payments etc. in adherence to tax regulations 

  • Strong understanding of Indian taxation laws (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.) 

  • Manage GST filing, TDS returns, and other statutory compliance 

  • Assisting in Audits  

  • Good knowledge of MS Excel 

 

EDUCATION AND professional experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting 

  • 4+ years of relevant experience 

  • Proficiency in accounting software's 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Working knowledge of banking and Indian GAAP accounting  

  • Knowledge of audit procedures and regulatory compliances 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information in an understandable manner. 

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
