The Manager Support Specialist supports Envestnet’s Asset Manager partners. Responsibilities include providing training and support on the Envestnet platform, acting as subject matter experts, responding to inquiries, and communicating platform updates. The role involves explaining processes, best practices, and collaborating with internal departments. The specialist also participates in projects, corrects trade errors, and ensures adherence to company policies. This role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure. The team focuses on thorough and accurate communication with Asset Manager partners, addressing their needs and resolving issues effectively. The team is split into two areas of expertise, proactive communications and reactive communications.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in financial services.
  • Experience in Client Service.
  • Working knowledge of the securities industry and trading methods.
  • Understanding of quality control methods.

Envestnet is seeking a Manager Support Specialist to join our Operations department. This is a hybrid role, with in-office work required at our Berwyn, PA office location.

Job Summary: 

The primary role of the Manager Services department is to support Envestnet’s Asset Manager partners.  The team is split into two areas of expertise while working together to achieve Envestnet’s goal of thorough and accurate communication, written and verbal, to Asset Manager partners. One part of the team focuses on proactive communications by keeping materials up to date based on development and manual process changes as well as focusing on Asset Managers requiring immediate, focused attention in order to correct issues which are causing challenges for client firms/advisors. The second team (MS-Trading) is focused on reactively responding to Asset Manager inquiries with the majority of the focus on trading, whether manager trading or Admin/model trading. This job description is for the Trading Support Specialist focusing on reactive communications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide training, demonstrations, and support related to the Envestnet platform (Manager Console) utilized by Asset Managers to maintain complete Service Request tasks, edit/maintain Model portfolios, trade accounts and other future functionality as the Manager Console is enhanced.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Experts related to all aspects of Manager Console and respond to asset manager questions about use of the platform via email or phone call.
  • Respond to Asset Managers as well as internal parties with thorough information to answer the question/resolve the topic (and proactively consider future follow up questions in the initial response) within SLAs of first response time and completion.
  • Explain process flows, best practices and responsibilities to both new asset managers as well as those that have been on the Envestnet platform for some time.
  • Promptly communicate global announcements to all managers (or applicable subset of managers) about platform issues, custodian delays, and other high priority topics requiring immediate manager action or knowledge.
  • Represent Manager Services and Operational interests during Business Partner Acceptance Committee (BPAC) meetings to ensure that portfolios are not approved to be added to the platform when operationally not acceptable.
  • Establish and maintain strong and supportive overlay relationships to foster a cooperative environment in which to build and maintain strategic partnerships with our investment managers.
  • Coordinate the correction process related to trade errors caused by asset managers.
  • Participates in root cause analysis to correct and/or prevent deviations in processes and workflows.
  • Proactively communicate to asset managers regarding topics such as model validation delays and other operational concerns.
  • Participate in projects when asset manager communication or Models are impacted (e.g., communication of changing account numbers, client firm leaving the platform end date communication to applicable managers).
  • Work directly with internal departments to resolve client firm issues/questions related to asset manager investment strategies according to departmental service levels.
  • Provide insight and training related to asset managers and strategies to new internal department personnel.
  • Interact with the Trading department when warranted to assist in solving Asset Manager complex trading issues.
  • Perform daily duties, including problem resolution using standard procedures and precedents.
  • Interaction when necessary with vendor partner when trading issues exist.
  • Assist with solving issues that are without procedures or precedents and escalates to Senior department members or department manager when warranted.
  • Participates in special projects/other duties as assigned by Manager or other senior management personnel.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent work experience required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the financial services or related industry.
  • Experience in Client Service.
  • Must have working knowledge of the securities industry, various types of investment vehicles, and trading methods.
  • Understanding of quality control methods is a necessity.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize pending inquiries and handle the most time sensitive prior to others without the same level of necessity.
  • Demonstrate skills to critically analyze information and make recommendations.
  • Demonstrate ability to be able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Work as a member of a team with collaborative decision making.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and diplomacy and be able to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools; Excel proficiency required.
