The Training & Instructional Systems Development Capability Manager is responsible for providing the necessary resources for training services and instructional systems development within Indo-Pacific Products and Service Delivery teams. This role is crucial in shaping, delivering, and evolving CAE's training solutions for Defence programs, aligning with operational readiness and national capability objectives. The manager will lead a team of instructional designers, courseware developers, ground-based training instructors, and training analysts. Responsibilities include leading the development, innovation, review, and refinement of training content and delivery, developing a training workforce plan, and delivering professional development for new products and processes. The role also involves acting as a Subject Matter Expert for bids and proposals and serving as the Accountable Manager for the CAE RTO.
Must have:
  • Tertiary degree in ISD/Learning Design or similar.
  • Proven experience leading defence instructional design teams.
  • Technical background in end-to-end training and courseware development.
  • Strong people and capability leadership experience.
Good to have:
  • Experience with national and international travel.
  • Eligibility for SECRET (NV1) Defence security clearance.
  • Holding a current SECRET (NV1) clearance is preferred.

About This Role

                                                                                                         

The Training & Instructional Systems Development Capability Manager is the functional manager responsible for the provision of the capability resources required to deliver training services and instructional systems development across our Indo-Pacific Products and Service Delivery teams.

This role will play a critical role in shaping, delivering and evolving CAE’s training solutions across Defence programs, with a focus on aligning with operational readiness and national capability objectives. The position leads a multi-disciplinary team of instructional designers, courseware developers, ground based training instructors and training analysts.

The role we are offering you

  • Lead the development, innovation, review and refinement of training content and delivery
  • Development of training workforce plan
  • Delivery of professional development and training for new products, processes and applications
  • Act as an SME to support bids and proposals of a similar capability across the region/business
  • Act as an Accountable Manager for the CAE RTO

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Tertiary degree in ISD/Learning Design, training and development or similar/equivalent
  • Proven experience in leading teams, across defence related instructional design and courseware development
  • Technical background in end to end training, courseware development
  • Strong people & capability leadership experience

Location:

  • Homebush, NSW or Brisbane, QLD
  • We operate a hybrid working approach.
  • Your role will involve some national and international travel

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
