Job Description

The Product Trainer - Trust & Safety Philippines role at ByteDance focuses on building and maintaining product and policy knowledge across various lines of business. Responsibilities include conducting thorough training needs analysis, creating effective training plans, developing training materials (presentations, videos, guides), and onboarding new products/policies. The role involves instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and blended training programs for moderation teams, internal T&S teams, and BPO partners. It requires refining curriculums, tracking learning program effectiveness, and ensuring data accuracy. Exposure to potentially harmful content (images, videos, text related to bullying, hate speech, etc.) is a possibility. The ideal candidate possesses strong presentation, facilitation, and analytical skills, along with experience in curriculum design and learning interventions. Fluency in English and Filipino is mandatory.

Responsibilities

The Trust & Safety (T&S) team at ByteDance helps ensure that our global online community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community. It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance. This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals. Responsibilities - Build and maintain product and policy knowledge across our lines of business - Conduct thorough training needs analysis through effective collaboration with stakeholders (e.g., Capacity Planning, Product BP, Team Leads, Partnership Ops Success) - Create effective training plans by leveraging comprehensive knowledge of curriculums and a deep understanding of learner roles - Develop and customize training materials as needed through close partnership with stakeholders (e.g., Policy Training Development, Regional Policy) - Onboard and operationalize new or updated products, policies, and procedures through instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and blended training programs - Recommend, develop, and implement learning interventions and best practices to ensure moderation teams, internal T&S teams, and T&S partner teams (BPO) are set up for success - Act as the key connector between all T&S training teams to ensure synergy across all learning activities, aligning them with the overall strategy - Refine curriculums and training processes as necessary - Track and analyze learning program effectiveness through various evaluation techniques - Drive the measurement strategy of learning initiatives to ensure our moderation and QA teams (in-house) or T&S partner teams (partner) meet or exceed our training success metrics - Ensure learning data consistency and accuracy - Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of training projects - Mentor and coach less experienced trainers
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - 4 years of experience in a learning/training role - Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and knowledge of curriculum design and development - Strong presentation and facilitation skills - Passion for learning, people development, and the ability to adapt style and training depending on business needs and learner profiles - Experience developing training materials (e.g., presentations, videos, guides) and implementing learning interventions - Ability to extract and coordinate learning data for reporting purposes - Fluency in English and Filipino is required. English will be the primary language for work, while Filipino will be used for market-specific communications Preferred Qualifications - Passion for learning, people development, and the ability to adapt style and training depending on business needs and learner profiles - Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze problems and strategize for better learning solutions - Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships - Experience successfully navigating a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment
