Job Description

This position is for an experienced project manager to lead projects supporting the financial collateral business, ranging from small, short efforts to complex client implementations lasting 12 to 18 months. The project manager is expected to become a subject matter expert. The role includes managing day-to-day activities, interacting with clients and internal teams, and understanding the projects at a conceptual level. The candidate will also proactively identify problems and communicate potential solutions.
Must have:
  • Manage day-to-day activities in line with goals.
  • Interact with clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Learn project subject matter at a conceptual level.
  • Use defined tools (Jira, Monday.com, etc.) for tracking.
  • Self-starter and self-learner with strong skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide information on problems and recommend actions.
Good to have:
  • Finance industry experience with risk management.
  • PMP preferred but not required.

Job Details

Position is for an experienced project manager to lead large and small projects supporting the financial collateral business. The projects range from small, short time scale efforts to large complex client implementations across multiple products lasting 12 to 18 months. Interactions will span internal teams, business partners and external clients.

Project manager is expected to become a subject matter expert on the project rather than solely requesting dates, tracking progress and updating plans. This requires developing an understanding the end goal of the project, the component pieces at a high level and how they interact.  Successful candidate will understand high level of the project better than any of the individual subject matter experts participating. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Operate independently and manage day-to-day activities in line with goals
  • Interact directly with clients, partners and internal teams to plan, track and update multiple projects of varying size simultaneously
  • Learn projects’ subject matter at a conceptual level and develop an understanding of the high-level interaction of all involved parties & products
  • Use defined tools (Jira, Monday.com, etc) for project tracking
  • Proactively identify problems, communicate impact & possible solutions to relevant parties  

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Self-starter & self-learner with strong leadership and communication skills
  • Superior organization skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capability to provide candid information on problems and recommend corrective actions
  • Finance industry experience preferably with exposure to risk management, collateral operations, and/or derivative trading
  • PMP preferred but not required
