Job Description

The QA Lead will be responsible for managing and mentoring the test team, ensuring the quality of games and features. This involves setting tasks, tracking implementation, and building a QA department workflow, including creating and maintaining testing documentation and integrating new team members. They will also set up performance and compliance testing processes for consoles, collaborate with other departments to define testing requirements, and participate in infrastructure tasks. Furthermore, they are expected to report on the current state of the project and identify problematic areas, defining priorities in testing efforts. This role requires a deep understanding of development, testing best practices, and excellent leadership skills.

Basic programming knowledge to create/self-maintain reporting tools.
Passion for gaming.
Background schooling in any games discipline.

Must Have:

4+ years of experience in leading QA positions.
Knowledge of testing methods and procedures.
Expert in Jira/Confluence, MS Office, and similar tools.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Excellent understanding of testing theory and its application.
Understanding of SDLC and the QA’s role.
Knowledge of modern gaming platforms.
Passion for video games and commitment to quality.
Strong knowledge in PC gaming and hardware.
English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a talented QA Lead to join our team. The job will require managing and mentoring the test team, using deep understanding of development, and testing best practices combined with first class leadership skills to promote approaches which ensure quality of our products.

Managing work of the QA department: setting tasks, track implementation.
Building a pipeline of QA department work.
Create and maintain workflow processes in Jira.
Create and maintain testing documentation (test cases, manuals, checklists, etc.).
Integration and mentoring of new team members.
Setting up performance and compliance testing process for consoles.
Collaboration with other departments to define testing requirements.
Participation in infrastructure tasks related to builds creation.
Reports of the current state of the project.
Identifying problematic areas, defining priorities in testing efforts.

REQUIREMENTS

4+ years of hands-on experience in leading QA positions at a game/software development studio.
Knowledge of testing methods and procedures, desire to learn more.
Ability to adapt QA processes to different project needs and specifics.
Expert in Jira/Confluence, MS Office, and other similar tools.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Excellent understanding of testing theory and the ability to apply it in practice.
Understanding of SDLC and the QA’s role in it.
Knowledge of modern gaming platforms.
Passion for video games and commitment to quality and sustainable software.
Strong knowledge in the areas of PC gaming and hardware.
English B2 or higher.

PREFERENCES

Previous experience on a similar role in a AAA development team – 1st hand experience with AAA development in any way.
Basic programming knowledge to create/self-maintain reporting tools.
Passion for gaming.
Background schooling in any games discipline a bonus.
