Job Description

The Walt Disney World Operations Training team seeks a Regional Training Manager to lead a team delivering world-class training for Cast Members across multiple properties. Responsibilities include creating and communicating training schedules, conducting property orientations and on-the-job training, ensuring Cast Member competency, integrating best practices, and partnering with cross-functional teams. The role involves overseeing hourly job-specific training, collaborating with leadership on operational improvements, and supporting site orientations and new leader onboarding. The successful candidate will build and develop high-performing teams, aligning training with operational changes, and ensuring training programs remain current and relevant. This is a regional role supporting multiple properties or lines of business.

About the Role

The Walt Disney World Operations Training team is currently seeking a Regional Training Manager.  In this role, you will inspire and lead the team responsible for delivering world class training for new and existing Cast Members within a multiple property region.  Your team will deliver a warm and welcoming Cast Training Experience including: creating and communicating training schedules, property orientation and on-the-job training to ensure Cast are confident and competent in performing their roles while delivering exemplary Guest Service. You will integrate information, processes, and best practices across Operations Training, and partner closely with Labor and other cross functional teams. This position may lead a team comprised of salaried, hourly non-union, and hourly union Cast Members.  

What You Will Do

  • This position is regional and supports multiple properties and/or a line of business (LOB).

  • Oversee the delivery of all hourly job-specific training (technical, regulatory, train the trainer and updates) ensuring alignment with learning performance models and an understanding of the uniqueness of each LOB and contractual requirements to ensure effective implementation.

  • Work closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders to understand operational challenges and opportunities. Utilize strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence decision-making processes and drive consensus toward best fit solution recommendations that drive continuous improvement.

  • Focus on process optimization, workflow enhancement, ideation, and problem-solving to improve training and operational effectiveness.

  • Oversee the delivery of site orientations and welcome sessions including the onboarding, training, and observation of facilitators delivering training at the site level. 

  • Support site specific New Leader Orientation, Leader onboarding and training planning with the assistance of the Operations Training Assistants.

  • Collaborate with the training strategy team to align operational changes with training needs and ensure training programs are up-to-date and relevant.

  • Build strong teams, conducting one on ones, team synergy and providing opportunities to develop individuals through assignments

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience leading an operation.

  • Mentorship and coaching skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.

  • Ability to identify, influence and implement opportunities for improvement.

  • Partnering, consulting, problem solving, and decision making skills.

  • Process, organization, and time management skills including balancing and prioritizing multiple priorities with competing timelines.

  • Solid technical aptitude, and knowledge in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, requiring a high level of discretion and professionalism.

  • Proactively take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.

  • Work with minimal direction, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Flexibility with schedule to support operational needs.
