Our lab’s mission is to promote cutting-edge research in multimedia (including, but not limited to image/video data processing, compression, and transmission), and to transfer technologies into our products for better serving our hundreds of millions of users. We are looking for exceptional individuals in the areas related to multimedia, system and networking, who have a track record of research excellence, a passion to shape the future of multimedia systems, and the potential to become an outstanding leader in the field. Responsibilities - Analyze and optimize the performance and efficiency of the streaming systems (i.e., on-demand , live streaming, real-time communication, etc.) serving billions of real world users. - Design and propose novel algorithms, architectures, and streaming solutions for emerging media content (e.g., 360-degree video, volumetric video, light filed, etc. ). - Study and improve evaluation metrics, models and methods for QoE analysis in large scale streaming systems. - Draft technical contributions, patent applications, and academic papers.
Minimum Qualifications - Master or Ph.D. degree in computer science/electrical engineering and related disciplines - Strong Computer Science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, software design) and problem-solving skills - Have published papers in top academic conferences or journals in the field - Collaborative mindset, with solid written and verbal communication skill Preferred Qualifications - Experiences with building CDN systems and tuning algorithms for content distribution. - Experiences with designing transport protocols and congestion algorithms for applications with latency constraints. - Experiences with applying ML/RL in multimedia streaming/processing. - Experiences with novel streaming systems such as cloud gaming and cloud XR.
