Senior Backend Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Backend development within startup environments, exceptional communication skills, and hands-on experience with AI tools. This is a fast-paced job with room for significant career growth. 

Please note: you must have at least 8+ years of experience as a .NET Engineer to be considered for this role. Experience with AI tools and exposure to start-up environments will be a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using the .NET Framework and Azure cloud services.

• Design and implement RESTful APIs and ensure robust integration with third-party providers.

• Leverage AI tools to streamline development, enhance code quality, and drive product innovation.

• Lead the integration of modern payment solutions into legacy products.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend engineers, product managers, and clients to deliver best-in-class user experiences.

• Mentor junior developers and help establish backend best practices in a fast-paced, startup environment.

• Participate in system architecture discussions and long-term technical planning.

EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.

• 8+ years of experience as a backend engineer, ideally in startup or scale-up environments.

• Expert-level knowledge of the .NET Framework, Azure, and RESTful API design.

• Demonstrated experience integrating with payment platforms (e.g., BlueSnap, Stripe, PayPal) in legacy system environments.

• Proven use of AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-based test automation, code generation).

• Direct hands-on experience with BlueSnap integration.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience modernizing monolithic applications or performing system migrations.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

• Initiative and drive to do great things.
