SENIOR SYSTEMS DESIGNER

is looking for a passionate crafter of compelling gameplay systems.

You are experienced in systems design with shipped titles that demonstrate your prowess. You take initiative with creative solutions for problem solving. Your technical mind and scripting knowledge enables you to create prototypes of your creative visions. You are experienced leading feature teams and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to create compelling, memorable user experiences. You are dedicated and organized, bringing cohesion to the systems you create. You have a team first mindset and strong capacity for mentorship.

This is a full-time, on-site position working on a new PC/Console franchise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create exciting gameplay systems that support the creative vision of the game
• Collaborate with Senior Management and other members of the Design team to define and implement core gameplay systems
• Prototype gameplay systems for evaluations by the Game Director and other Senior Management for inclusion into the game
• Iterate on your gameplay systems based on playtesting feedback
• Lead feature-specific strike teams
• Ensure a noteworthy game through close collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
• Conduct gameplay evaluations providing feedback and suggestions to help fine tune and improve the user experience
• Locate and fix bugs in both your own and your colleague’s work
• Mentor junior designers on the team

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years game development with a Systems Design contribution to at least one shipped AAA title
• Experience with Unreal Engine content tools and level editing pipelines
• A strong Scripting background, particularly with UE’s Blueprint tool
• Ability to quickly adapt to new pipelines and content tools
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to motivate a highly collaborative team effort
• Ability to mentor junior members of the design team
• Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and coordinate work efforts to meet objectives
• Passion, enthusiasm, and experience designing a variety of system types
• Excellent documentation skills to create clear, cohesive specifications and flow charts for system behaviors
