Job Description
As a Senior Test Engineer at Power Integrations in Malaysia, you will be responsible for all technical aspects of PCBA testing at their EMS. This includes developing and sustaining test programs and hardware, and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness. You will collaborate with test engineering staff in Switzerland, Operations personnel, and EMS test staff. Key responsibilities involve implementing and optimizing In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Circuit Test (FCT), and In-System Programming (ISP) for PCBAs on Teradyne TestStation systems, designing test fixtures, and troubleshooting production issues related to test software and hardware. You will also document test programs and processes, drive continuous improvement, and analyze test data to generate reports.
Must have:
- Develop and optimize ICT, FCT, and ISP test programs
- Design test fixtures for Teradyne TestStation
- Solve production issues and troubleshoot test systems
- Interact with EMS for test engineering matters
- Document test programs and processes
- Analyze test data and create reports
- BSEE/MSEE degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 8 years experience in PCBA test development
- Experience with Teradyne TestStation or Agilent 3070
- Experience with NI TestStand/LabVIEW
- Knowledge in power electronics, analog, and mixed signal
- Experience in C/C++ programming
- Fluent in English
Good to have:
- Experience testing automotive certified PCBAs
- Knowledgeable in automotive requirements (VDA, IATF)
- Experience in Agile PLM
- Familiarity with computer hardware/software and servers
- Other languages are an advantage

Description
As a Senior Test Engineer at Power Integrations in Malaysia, you will take ownership of all technical aspects of PCBA testing at our EMS. You will be responsible for the development and sustaining of the test programs, test hardware, and overcoming barriers to Overall Equipment Effectiveness. We look to all of our test engineering personnel to innovate and drive operational and quality excellence. This position interfaces with test engineering staff in Switzerland as well as with Operations personnel and the EMS test staff. He/She will report to the Test Engineering Manager based in Penang, Malaysia.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and optimize In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Circuit Test (FCT) and In-System Programming (ISP) test programs for our PCBAs on Teradyne TestStation test system
- Design test fixtures for Teradyne TestStation test system
- Solve production issues and troubleshoot the test software and hardware
- Interact with our EMS for test engineering and sustenance-related matters
- Document the test programs and processes (test specifications, release procedures, working instructions)
- Drive continuous improvement of the test programs and processes in production
- Analyze the test data and create comprehensive reports
Education and Experience:
- BSEE/MSEE degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar education
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in test development and sustaining support for PCBA
- Good experience in developing In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Circuit Test (FCT) and In-System Programming (ISP) on Teradyne TestStation test system (or Agilent 3070 test system) and NI TestStand/LabVIEW test system
- Good knowledge in power electronics, analog and mixed signal electronics
- Good experience and knowhow in C/C++ programming, computer hardware/software and servers
- Experience in testing automotive certified PCBAs and knowledgeable in the automotive requirements (VDA, IATF) would be an advantage
- Experience in Agile PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) is desirable
- Language: Fluent in English, other languages would be an advantage
