Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects related to third-party data center operations. Responsibilities include managing critical facility infrastructure incidents, leading improvement projects, and ensuring reliable operation of critical systems (BMS & EPMS). You will work with stakeholders, develop project plans, manage schedules and budgets, and communicate effectively across teams. This role requires a strong understanding of data center infrastructure, technical project management, and controls engineering. Data analysis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and developing dashboards to monitor system health are key aspects of this position. The role is based in Frankfurt, Germany and involves responding to incidents and coordinating with vendors.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years program management experience
  • Experience managing critical facility infrastructure incidents
  • Experience with data center infrastructure, operating systems, networking, security, system administration, or service management
  • Lead technical projects involving BMS and EPMS systems
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects
  • Experience with BMS/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk, Ignition)
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis for BMS/EPMS issues

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in managing critical facility infrastructure incidents.
  • Experience in two or more of the following areas: data center infrastructure, operating systems, networking, security, system administration, or service management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with designing, configuring, and troubleshooting BMS and SCADA systems using software like FactoryTalk and Ignition.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis or corrective action for BMS and EPMS related issues.

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of critical systems within third-party data centers, responding to incidents, leading improvement projects, and contributing to operational.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical projects, such as those involving Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS). This includes developing project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, as well as managing project execution to ensure timely delivery and quality.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents related to critical infrastructure, including BMS and EPMS systems. This may involve troubleshooting, coordinating with vendors, and implementing preventative measures.
  • Collect and analyze operational data, including incident reports and system performance metrics, to identify trends and drive process improvements. Develop dashboards and visualizations to monitor system health, identify opportunities, and make data-backed recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
