This full-time, permanent Software Developer Engineer in Test role involves designing and developing an end-to-end test automation framework for the banking sector. Responsibilities include understanding financial IT systems, participating in integration testing, evaluating automation processes, and collaborating with stakeholders. The role requires proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, C#, C++, and tools such as Jenkins, GIT, Ansible, and Linux, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills. The position is based in Porto, Portugal.
Must have:
  • Design and develop framework to automate end-to-end tests.
  • Understand financial IT system landscape and project objectives.
  • Participate in integration testing; evaluate automation processes.
  • Collaborate on robust framework design for test automation.
  • Evaluate and propose tools for seamless system integration.
  • Contribute to user-friendly environment, reporting, and usability.
  • Work with IT and business users; gather requirements and provide updates.
  • Proven experience in designing and building software or tools.
  • Understanding of end-to-end testing processes and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, C#, C++.
  • Proficiency in Jenkins, GIT, Ansible, Linux.
  • Experience in development best practices: code review, unit testing.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to write, execute tests, and debug applications.
  • Proactive and dynamic approach to project momentum.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development.

Job Description

  • Responsible for understanding the project context, contributing to the launch, and playing a significant role in designing and developing a framework to automate end-to-end tests and drive the associated coverage.
  • Understand the current landscape of the financial IT system and contribute to the project launch with a clear understanding of objectives and requirements.
  • Actively participate in integration testing and evaluate existing automation processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to contribute to the design of a robust framework for end-to-end test automation, ensuring it meets the needs of both IT and business users.
  • Assist in evaluating existing tools, both internal and external, and propose solutions that integrate seamlessly with current systems, enhancing the overall testing process.
  • Focus on contributing to a user-friendly environment, considering aspects such as reporting and usability for both IT and business users.
  • Work closely with internal IT members and business users to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with project goals. Act as a driving force to ensure project progress and guide stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in design and building software or tools.
  • Understanding of end-to-end testing processes and methodologies.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, C++
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Jenkins, GIT, Ansible, and Linux.
  • Strong experience in development best practices, including documented code, code review, and unit testing.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to debug and optimize code.
  • Ability to write and execute tests, and debug applications to ensure quality and performance.
  • A proactive and dynamic approach to ensure project momentum and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum software development methodology.
