Travel Partnerships and Media (TPM) Program Management team is looking for a Business Programs Manager to play a key role in evolving our business and driving our division priorities to results.

In this role, you drive change for the next generation of travel challenges and opportunities in a fast-paced & ever-changing environment. You will drive and deliver increasingly complex projects or programs, end-to-end. You’ll be part of a global Program Management team within the Operational Excellence organization and will work on a large variety of global medium-large scale projects or programs, depending on the need, across various teams, lines of business, or even organisations, to drive transformational change for our Travel Partners and TPM teams.

TPM is Expedia Group’s B2B arm, partnering with suppliers (hotels, airlines, etc.), demand partners (OTAs, travel agencies, travel management providers) and media companies. We are a B2B powerhouse in the travel industry, powering our partners’ distribution, media, and software solutions.

What you will do

  • Scope, design, structure and drive projects and programs, coordinating across teams and organizations and assessing bottlenecks to streamline workflow. Design and optimize effective project and program structures, organization and governance, throughout the project lifecycle, to set them up for success.

  • Develop project schedules, define timeframes, and prioritize tasks to achieve milestones and deliver project or program objectives. Monitor progress and initiate actions to meet project milestones, timelines, specifications, and requirements.

  • Identify the type of resources required to support a project or program and make recommendations for specific people, technology, partners, etc.

  • Investigate data and information on a given question or problem to establish facts, reach conclusions and summarize findings, throughout the project lifecycle. Perform data analyses, articulate findings and propose solutions when needed.

  • Proactively report and communicate on project status & risks (escalate appropriately to mitigate or drive resolution). Create and maintain applicable KPIs to drive action based on results.

  • Manage risk, working with the team to anticipate, assess and manage new risks, issues and dependencies. Leads mitigation planning and transparent escalation and reporting.

  • Leverage both written and verbal communication skills to create clear, concise and organized communications, adapted for different audiences.

  • Acts as a trusted advisor for the project team and business sponsor. Help your stakeholders to explore and understand project/program (and potential wider business) challenges, establishes and maintains trust by effectively addressing the team concerns and advocating for its needs. Develops understanding of the industry, and of your business partner’s strategy and objectives to guide proper prioritization.

Who you are

  • Degree educated, with 5+ years of proven experience of leading complex, cross-functional, large-scale business programs and initiatives. Qualified and experienced at using PMP (or

  • similar) and/or Agile methodologies and frameworks. Travel industry, customer-centric, sales operations experience preferred.

  • Passion for driving business impact & execution of projects and programs through to completion. Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to drive success with limited guidance in a highly autonomous role.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to develop and optimize robust project frameworks and governance, framework, plans and work processes in partnership with cross-functional project teams.

  • Ability to manage key relationships: mobilize, influence, and lead others without having positional authority, by interacting and building rapport with teams of all levels, in a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, strong business acumen, ability to think strategically and to see the bigger picture without missing details. Keen sense for prioritization and the ability to distinguish the critical from the extraneous factors influencing project outcomes.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify and present complex concepts to both executive leadership and operational teams.

  • Inclusive team player with an ability to build an inclusive environment to bring a diverse set of perspectives to the team and our solutions.

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook), Experience using collaboration tools to communicate and coordinate with remote teams globally is a plus (Slack, Sharepoint, One drive, Confluence etc.)
