• Partnered with Sharkmob on the upcoming tactical open world extraction shooter, Exoborne
• Continuing to support Warner Bros. on multiple titles
• Working on a high-profile AAA 1st person shooter in UE5
• Developing Red Kite’s first original game
One of the most interesting aspects to working at Red Kite is the diversity of projects present within the studio and we constantly find ourselves pushing the boundaries when it comes to the gameplay that we are creating and the technologies that we are engineering.
In your new role you will:
• Be involved in the creation of concept art in all forms, through sketch ideas through to finished pieces
• Be directly involved in idea generation and visual problem solving
• Work on concepts for Environments, Characters, Props, Vehicles Storyboards and even Game Design Features
• Be involved in rapid idea generation and multiple iterations with Art and Creative Directors and even external clients
• Be familiar with, and contribute to, documentation such as Style Guides, Art Bibles and Presentations
• Create and understand storyboards as well as visual design flow
• Work with designers to create solutions to creative gameplay features
Please note that the role summary is non-exhaustive and may require the postholder to complete other responsibilities as required by business priorities.
To be successful you will have:
• Experience in a Concept Artist position with a proven record of multiple art styles and game types
• Be able to rapidly learn and pivot to a new art style
• Excellent practical knowledge of packages such as Photoshop, Illustrator and others where appropriate
• Excellent digital and traditional art skills
• An understanding of how things work to help to inform your concept designs
• The ability to work with Artists and Designers and to understand how the two disciplines interact and overlap each other
• Skill to communicate effectively within a multi discipline project environment and explain thinking behind decisions
• The ability to take direction, feedback and constructive criticism
• High levels of professionalism and can function well within a multi-disciplined development team
• A drive for self-motivation
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and milestones
• Capability to work unsupervised with external clients when necessary
• Passion to be an advocate for the art department, the studio and beyond
• An excellent portfolio of work demonstrating your range and skills
Experience in any of these areas will be advantageous but not essential:
• Working knowledge or higher of a major 3D packages (Max/Maya/Blender)
• An interest and understanding of Product Design and its principles
