The Data Engineer at Rocket Software is responsible for developing and supporting enterprise data and analytics tools. This includes data warehousing, integrations, master data management, content management, business intelligence, data modeling, and data science. Responsibilities include developing new system enhancements, software management (installing, configuring, and upgrading), implementing and maintaining security measures, monitoring system performance, providing technical support, designing solutions with stakeholders, analyzing and improving existing system functionality, identifying and remediating bugs, and optimizing processes and databases. The role requires collaboration, accountability, and dependability in a team setting.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years of data/analytics engineering experience.
  • Experience with leading database technologies (Oracle, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.).
  • Experience with data transformation, ETL, and validation.
  • Experience coding in one or more languages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum development processes.
  • Experience working with large data sets.
  • Experience with both cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, Groovy, or similar scripting languages.

Job Description Summary:

The Data and Analytics team at Rocket Software is responsible for delivering systems, tools, processes, and capabilities used to equip teams with the data and insights they need to make informed decisions. The Data Engineer is responsible for the development and support of our enterprise data and analytics tools spanning data warehousing, integrations, master data management, content management, business intelligence, data modeling and data science.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develop and configure new system enhancements and features.

· Software Management: Installing, configuring, and upgrading software, including operating systems and applications.

· Security: Implementing and maintaining security measures

· Performance Monitoring: Monitoring system performance and identifying areas for improvement.

· Technical Support: Providing technical support to end-users and other IT staff.

· Work effectively with stakeholders, partners, and team members to design thoughtful solutions.

· Analyze and improve existing system functionality and customizations.

· Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and optimize processes, code, and/or databases,

· Identify and remediate bugs and defects.

Required Qualifications:

· 3-5 years of experience working in data/analytics engineering or a related field.

· Experience working with one or more leading database technologies (Oracle, Snowflake, Redshift, SQL Server, etc.).

· Experience doing data transformation, ETL, validation, and related technologies (Boomi, dbt, MuleSoft, etc.).

· Experience coding in one or more languages.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Able to balance project work in conjunction with smaller enhancements and sustaining engineering activities.

· Self-manage tasks.

· Work well in a team. Be team-oriented, collaborative, accountable, and dependable.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Familiar with agile/scrum development processes.

· Experience working with large data sets.

· Experience working with both cloud and on-premise systems.

· Familiarity with SQL, Python, Groovy, or similar programming/scripting languages.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
