Job Description

The General Labor position involves safely handling composite lumber products, verifying materials meet customer and company standards. Key responsibilities include moving and securing lumber, stacking finished products, and labeling materials with specifications. The role also requires using a staple gun, troubleshooting equipment, banding and securing materials, and ensuring accurate inventory. Maintaining a clean work area, assisting in other departments, and participating in safety programs are also part of the job. The general labor role is responsible for 12 hour rotating shifts which include working alternating weekends. The company is an equal opportunity employer.
Must have:
  • Move and secure lumber products.
  • Stack finished products to customer requirements.

  • Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
Good to have:
  • Manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.

Job Details

Job Summary General labor is responsible for safely handling composite lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.
  • 12 hour rotating shift (2,3,2)
  • 6am to 6pm
  • alternating weekends

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic math
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
