Job Description

This Google Workspace Sales Specialist role focuses on expanding Google's presence within the State and Local Government (SLED/SLG) market across a 12-state territory. The successful candidate will proactively build sales pipelines, cultivate strong relationships with government agencies, and collaborate effectively with a team of 21 Field Sales Representatives. Responsibilities include developing and executing territory plans, meeting with customers and partners, providing quotes, and acting as a Google Workspace subject matter expert. The role demands strategic thinking, strong relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes. This position requires collaboration with internal teams to generate and develop business results and open new opportunities.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of Public Sector sales experience
  • Client sales/management experience in the public sector
  • Public sector procurement process understanding
  • Developing and executing territory plans
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams
Good to have:
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships
  • SaaS sales cycle experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience selling into or working with the Public Sector.
  • Experience in client sales/management and within the public sector space.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building relationships and operating in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience in SaaS sales cycles.
  • Understanding of public sector procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace or competing collaboration suites.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$165,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with wider Google teams on strategies to generate and develop business results, and open up opportunities with national, regional, and local agencies and higher education customers for Google Workspace.
  • Develop fluency around the Google Workspace business process, including analyzing potential in a territory, developing structured territory plans, quarterly reviews of accounts, and involvement of cross-functional teams whose participation is critical to enterprise goals.
  • Meet directly in the field with customers and partners. Provide quotes to customers and partners to ensure the processing of Google Workspace agreements for growth opportunities.
  • Be the subject matter expert on Google Workspace in the assigned region and will partner with the Field Sales team on qualifying and working with customers.
