Barracuda is looking for an exceptional manager of Legal Operations who can work cross functionally to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal team and other compliance functions, to facilitate change and help control costs and to support larger corporate initiatives like M&A due diligence and integration. Depending on the candidate, additional responsibilities in working to improve processes in procurement, sales automation, legal billing and calendaring and managing law enforcement subpoena requests may be included. This role will report to the Chief Legal Officer.
You will be a critical, highly visible, and impactful member of the Legal department and a true partner to the business. This is a role in which you will interact daily with senior executives and other business stakeholders, such as Security, Finance and Corporate Development. This role is “hands-on” and requires that you improve and manage the Company’s information governance and records management programs in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external experts. Our expectation is that you will also assist in preparing reports and materials for our Board of Directors and help drive corporate governance process improvements.
What you’ll be working on
- Contract Process Improvement: Evaluate and improve how Legal intakes, assigns, and manages legal work, including vendor (Procurement) and sales contract processes.
- Technology Review and Management: Manage existing CLM tool (Ironclad) and work to drive technology and process improvement and scalability. Assist the Legal team and the broader organization through changes brought about by new processes or technologies, including broader adoption of AI tools to safely enhance efficiency.
- Knowledge Management: help organize, design and augment internal Legal web page.
- Training and Development: Design and execute comprehensive training programs for sales and other teams of varying experience levels, enhancing their understanding of legal standards (anti-corruption, privacy, data security, etc.).
- Technical Support of Legal Initiatives: Provide technical and analytical support for larger Legal initiatives such as enhanced privacy and compliance practices to meet growing regulatory frameworks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales Operations, IT, Finance, HR, and other departments to integrate legal processes and foster a cohesive operational framework.
- Assist with Budget/Invoice Management: Assist with Legal department budget management, including adoption of outside counsel billing policies and legal invoice management.
- Documentation Harmonization and Review: Assist the department’s efforts to create and refine forms, harmonize documentation across jurisdictions, develop playbooks and adopt policy review schedules.
- M&A Preparation and Integration: Assist with transaction due diligence and provide pre-and-post acquisition support, including integration of new businesses and harmonization of business models.
What you bring to the role
- 8-10 years of experience in legal operations, preferably in late-stage private or public companies.
- Extensive experience with legal technology implementations.
- Proven track record with CLM systems, particularly Ironclad.
- Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communicator able to synthesize and present data and analytical information clearly.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with internal team members throughout the company
- Strong work ethic and sense of professionalism and discretion, demonstrating accountability, integrity, good judgment, and respect for confidentiality
- Able to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive, "get things done" attitude to the workplace and works collaboratively with internal and external clients
- Microsoft Office suite proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Familiarity with Jira (Atlassian) and Salesforce applications

The anticipated salary range for this role is $145,000 - $193,000. Actual compensation offered will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, the budget for the position, and applicable employment laws.
