Amber is seeking a Korean Localization QA Tester to work at our offices in Montreal on an on-call basis. Training will be provided for individuals without prior experience. You will be responsible for testing games to identify linguistic, visual, and cultural issues within the localized text of various game titles across mobile (iOS and Android), PC, and console platforms. This role involves collaborating with a multilingual team of QA testers. If you have keen attention to detail and can spot errors such as extra spaces, improper phrasing, misspelled words, or cultural faux pas, we encourage you to apply! Responsibilities include testing video game titles, verifying all text, images, and voice-over components in Korean, identifying translation, contextual, cultural, and other linguistic errors, reporting errors in a bug-tracking database or translation document, providing resolutions for reported errors, following terminology guidelines, cross-checking issues across languages, reporting to and following instructions from the Test Lead, and addressing and escalating problems to the Test Lead.

About the role:

Amber is looking for a Korean Localization QA Tester to work at our offices in Montreal on an on-call basis. Training will be offered for people without prior experience. 

You will be testing games in matter to find linguistic, visual, and cultural issues on the localized text of various game titles on mobile (iOS and Android), PC and console in a multilingual team of QA testers. If your eagle eyes can spot an extra space, improper phrasing, a misspelled word, or a cultural faux pas in your language, we want to hear from you! 

 The Quest: 

  • Testing video game titles and verifying all text, images, and voice-over components in Korean
  • Finding translation, contextual, cultural, and other linguistic errors in video game titles 
  • Reporting errors in a bug-tracking database and/or translation document in a clear manner 
  • Providing resolutions for errors reported to improve the linguistic and translated content 
  • Following and respecting terminology guidelines 
  • Cross-checking issues between different languages with your team 
  • Reporting to and following instructions from the Test Lead 
  • Addressing and escalating problems to the Test Lead 

The Skills: 

  • Native-level language competency in Korean
  • Proof of existing eligibility to work in Canada 
  • Experience using mobile, PC and console devices and knowledge of their terminology 
  • Passion for video games

Amber est à la recherche d’un.e testeur.euse d’assurance qualité en localisation coréenne pour travailler dans nos bureaux de Montréal sur appel. Des formations seront offertes aux personnes sans expérience préalable.

Vous testerez des jeux pour trouver des problèmes linguistiques, visuels et culturels sur le texte localisé de divers titres de jeux sur mobile (iOS et Android), PC et console au sein d’une équipe multilingue de testeurs d’assurance qualité. Si vos yeux d’aigle peuvent repérer un double espace, une formulation incorrecte, un mot mal orthographié ou un faux pas culturel dans votre langue, nous voulons avoir de vos nouvelles !

La mission :

  • Tester des jeux vidéo et vérifier tous les textes, images et éléments voix off en coréen
  • Trouver les fautes de traduction, contexte, culture et autres erreurs linguistiques dans les jeux vidéo
  • Rapporter les erreurs de manière claire dans une base de données de suivi des bogues et/ou dans un document de traduction
  • Donner des suggestions de résolution quant aux erreurs rapportées, ceci afin d‘améliorer le contenu traduit et linguistique
  • Suivre et respecter les paramètres de terminologie
  • Effectuer les vérifications croisées entre les différentes langues avec le reste de l’équipe
  • Se rapporter à et suivre les instructions du chef d’équipe
  • Signaler et transmettre les problèmes au chef d’équipe

Les compétences :

  • Maitrise du coréen niveau langue maternelle
  • Capable de fournir une preuve d’admissibilité à travailler au Canada
  • Expérience avec les téléphones mobiles, ordinateurs et consoles, ainsi que connaissance de leur terminologie
  • Passion pour les jeux vidéo
  • Attention supérieure aux détails
  • Excellent niveau en anglais
