This is a hybrid role based out of San Francisco and will require you to be in office Tuesdays and Thursdays.

What’s so interesting about this role?

As Grindr enters a new phase of growth, our VP, New Business Development is looking to bring on a Manager, New Verticals. Grindr is exploring a variety of new verticals and business units, and this role will be a strategic operator and trusted partner responsible for driving the development and execution of our new vertical. This is neither a pure strategy role nor a pure operations role; we’ll expect you to be equally comfortable assessing strategy at 10,000 feet or deep in the weeds of a financial model calculating total addressable market.

What’s the job?  

  • Identify strategic opportunities for Grindr in new verticals outside of the core app
  • Develop a long-term business plan for new opportunities; identify potential partnerships and approaches to launch our new verticals 
  • Negotiate business models with external parties
  • Manage launches and ongoing new verticals operations
  • Assess and prioritize; get buy-in from executive stakeholders with a compelling and succinctly communicated story
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to get buy-in on strategy, approach, and what’s needed to operationalize
  • Monitor and analyze performance of the new verticals strategy
  • Remain up-to-date on industry trends and changes, especially within the LGBTQ+ community

What we'll love about you  

  • 4-6+ years of total experience between Banking/Consulting and Startups/Tech 
  • Experience identifying markets, sizing business opportunities, and developing and executing a go-to-market playbook 
  • Strong project management skills and autonomy
  • A strategic thinker with strong business acumen who’s equally excited about planning and doing the work 
  • Experience researching, drafting, and presenting briefings for high-level executives
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience

  • Demonstrated success building relationships, influencing and communicating with external parties
  • Previous experience in a Business Development or Partnerships role negotiating a shared business model

This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will also be eligible for equity, benefits, and a company bonus program.
