This internship at Rebellion's Oxford office focuses on consumer products and global licensing. Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating licensing partners, analyzing market proposals, managing licensee relationships, developing retail programs, planning global licensing events, collaborating on marketing strategies, and providing administrative support. The role requires strong communication, analytical, and collaborative skills. The intern will gain experience in strategic licensing, partner engagement, retail development, event planning, and multi-platform marketing initiatives. The internship is exclusively for undergraduate students from Wadham and St John's Colleges at Oxford University.

Description

For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.

Consumer products and licensing are integral to Rebellion's strategy to build on our success as the UK's largest independent game developer and publisher. We aim to enhance the monetization of our intellectual property and content across various platforms, which include digital and physical products, promotional collaborations, retail, and brand partnerships, ultimately boosting the recognition of Rebellion's IP. The consumer products and global licensing team plays a crucial role in our growth trajectory as we collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to showcase our IP and content to global audiences through physical products, thereby fostering growth in our offerings.

This role is based at our riverside headquarters in Oxford, offering a creative and relaxed atmosphere where teamwork drives our success.

What You'll Do:

  • Identify and evaluate prospective licensing partners, including licensees, retailers, and brand collaborators.
  • Analyze markets, proposals, and financial impacts to secure top-tier partners.
  • Support and manage relationships with licensees, including product development, marketing, and reporting.
  • Build strong connections with major retailers and develop cross-category programs.
  • Assist in planning and executing global licensing events, including stand design and meetings.
  • Collaborate on marketing, retail, promotional, and event strategies with internal and external teams.
  • Maintain and distribute communication materials, presentations, and trend guides for stakeholders.
  • Analyze industry trends and contribute to product and brand development initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support and track financial performance for licensing activities.

Requirements

  • Internships are exclusively accessible to undergraduate students from Wadham and St John's Colleges at Oxford University.
  • Availability for attendance from June 30, 2025, to August 29, 2025.
  • A sincere enthusiasm for the gaming, film, or publishing sectors or consumer products industries is essential.
  • Prior experience in marketing, retail, or event planning (internships, part-time roles, or projects) is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with industry tools or software related to licensing and product development (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or market analysis tools) is a plus.
  • All applications must be submitted by Friday, 21st February at 16:00.
