Position Summary
We are seeking an expert and strategically minded PMO Quality Assurance (QA) Director to join our Group Investment Management Team. This pivotal role will lead QA activity on complex strategic programmes, ensuring alignment with the Group Delivery Disciplines (GDDs) and driving continuous improvement across the change portfolio.
The QA Director will input into the Group Investment Committee (GIC), providing insights on QA findings, and remediation actions. This role requires a blend of strategic oversight, hands-on programme assurance, and collaborator engagement across internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Assurance
Lead and coordinate deep-dive QA reviews on complex strategic programmes using GDDs as the framework.
Identify early indicators of delivery risk and support root cause analysis and resolution planning.
Track and report on QA-related Capex recovery.
Governance & Reporting
Provide regular updates to the GIC on QA findings, risks, and remediation progress.
Align QA activities with Risk and Audit functions to ensure consistent assurance standards.
Engage with Delivery Portfolios to supervise QA compliance.
Partner Engagement
Collaborate with the Transformation Community to communicate QA expectations and share insights.
Build and maintain relationships with external QA specialists to support technical, design, and engineering reviews.
Continuous Improvement
Identify programmes requiring improved QA through metrics and performance indicators.
Drive the evolution of Group Delivery Disciplines based on QA insights and lessons learned.
Promote standard methodologies and knowledge sharing across the investment and transformation communities.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Programme Director or senior-level Programme Manager, with hands on experience of delivering complex transformation programmes.
Confirmed experience in a senior QA or programme assurance role within a complex, multi-programme environment.
Strong familiarity with engineering and technical QA practices, including delivery and testing metrics and root cause analysis.
Strong understanding of capital investment governance, delivery frameworks, and risk management.
Confirmed ability to lead deep-dive reviews and influence senior customers.
Experience working with external QA providers and handling third-party assurance engagements.
Sophisticated knowledge of agile, waterfall and hybrid project management methodologies (qualifications or equivalent certifications crucial).
Familiarity with Product Management principles.
