Paytm Group is seeking a passionate Product Manager / Sr. Product Manager to lead their EDC (Electronic Data Capture) device product line. The role involves collaborating with external vendors and internal teams to deliver top-tier EDC solutions. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy with expertise in payment devices and terminal management systems. Key responsibilities include managing the product lifecycle, evaluating new hardware, defining roadmaps, conducting competitive analysis, integrating EDCs with backend systems, and working with terminal management systems to manage device fleets. The role also requires defining device health KPIs, troubleshooting issues, utilizing data analytics for performance monitoring, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of product management experience

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and driven Product Manager / Sr. Product Manager to lead our EDC (Electronic Data Capture) device product line. This role involves working closely with external vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver industry-best EDC solutions. The ideal candidate will be a tech-savvy product thinker with a strong background in payment devices and terminal management systems.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Own the product lifecycle of EDC devices from concept to launch and post-deployment monitoring.
Evaluate and scout new EDC hardware/devices and work with vendors on procurement, integration, and customization.
Define and drive the roadmap for EDC innovations and new use cases aligned with company strategy.
Conduct competition benchmarking to identify gaps and opportunities in device features, pricing, and performance.
Manage integration of EDCs with backend platforms, payment systems, and third-party services.
Deeply involved in exploring hardware capabilities and suggesting enhancements or newer options.
Work with terminal management systems (TMS/RTM) to manage device fleets at scale.
Define device health KPIs and troubleshoot field issues effectively.
Utilize data analytics to monitor EDC device performance(health - battery, network etc), transaction success, and customer experience.
Maintain close relationships with leading EDC vendors and ensure adherence to Compliance, SLAs, delivery, and support.
Champion a product mindset across the organization, balancing business needs, user experience, and technical feasibility.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in fintech or payments.
Proven experience managing EDC device ecosystems with exposure to TMS, remote troubleshooting, and firmware management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in using data for decision-making.
Prior experience working with hardware vendors, preferably in the POS/EDC space.
Strong understanding of device protocols (eg. 4G, 2G fallback, MQTT), connectivity, and diagnostics.
Ability to write product requirement documents (PRDs), user stories, and manage sprints.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
