Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, you will assist engineering teams in delivering high-quality software, collaborating with other quality roles. You will be involved in promoting best practices in software testing, understanding software architecture, delivery tools, and automated testing frameworks. Responsibilities include contributing to test plans, promoting CI/CD practices, supporting software engineers, working on quality engineering initiatives, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions, and performing code reviews. The role requires strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring system quality and continuous improvement.
Must have:
  • Understanding of testing strategies across different technical layers.
  • Experience writing automated tests with frameworks like Cypress and JUnit.
  • Expertise with different approaches and phases of manual testing.
  • Comfortable coding in at least one programming language.
  • Knowledge of modern architectural patterns such as microservices.
  • Strong grasp of CI/CD principles and their technical implementation.
  • Good understanding on the SDLC and how quality is integrated.

Job Details

Your mission

As a Quality Engineer, you will assist the engineering teams to deliver high quality software. You will also collaborate with other Quality roles in initiatives to provide utilities required for testing.

It means that you should have knowledge in testing activities, quality practices and also a technical background that allow you to understand the software architecture, delivery tools and automated tests frameworks.

What you'll do

  • Promote the best practices in software testing on the teams and guide them in its implementation.
  • Gain a deep functional and technical understanding of the system and contribute to its overall quality strategy and roadmap.
  • Contribute on the required test plans by promoting the application of the testing strategy and by providing the quality perspective.
  • Promote the CI/CD best practices and the Definition of Done where the automated testing is fundamental.
  • Support Software Engineers on the technical and non-technical testing types.
  • Work on quality engineering initiatives that aim to mitigate system's quality technical debt (such as implementation of missing automation tests).
  • Work on quality engineering initiatives that aim to improve current quality infrastructure (such us migration of current tests to newer testing infrastructure).
  • Perform knowledge sharing sessions to educate other Software Engineers on current testing strategy and good practices.
  • Perform on-boarding sessions to new joiners covering testing strategy, best practices and principles. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of testing failures.
  • Support teams in exploratory testing activities.
  • Performs code reviews to ensure test implementations align with previously agreed test plans and follow appropriate testing strategies for each layer of the application.
  • Gathers and uses metrics that help to know the quality level of the systems.
  • Contributes at the retrospective sessions.
  • Flags areas of improvements, particularly around processes and testing coverage.

What you'll bring

  • High Motivation, seeking a long-term career in quality.
  • Solid understanding of testing strategies across different technical layers, with the ability to apply the right level of testing based on the context of the solution.
  • Demonstrated experience writing automated test with frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, Jest and JUnit.
  • Expertise with different approaches and phases of manual testing (ex: Exploratory Testing).
  • Comfortable coding in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, or Python), with the ability to debug and resolve issues with minimal support.
  • Knowledge of modern architectural patterns such as microservices and communication patterns (sync/async), with the ability to assess and ensure quality across distributed systems — including their impact on testing strategies, observability, and system resilience.
  • Strong grasp of CI/CD principles and their technical implementation, including the ability to work with and improve automated pipelines.
  • Good understanding on the SDLC and how quality is integrated in it.
  • Proactivity. Take the lead of problems when it is required.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
