Job Description

SimpliSafe is a high-tech home security company focused on protecting homes and fostering career growth. They operate with a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence two days a week. The company is expanding and seeks talented individuals to disrupt the home security space. The Sales Systems Administrator, Business Systems role reports to the Hire to Retire Product Owner, focusing on configuring, maintaining, optimizing, and supporting Field Sales systems like CaptivateIQ and Knockbase, as well as Workday Adaptive Planning, to enhance operational efficiency and improve employee and stakeholder experiences.
Must have:
  • Configure, test, and maintain sales commission plans and reporting in CaptivateIQ
  • Translate compensation plan documentation into system logic and workflows
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations, Finance, and People Team for requirements and validation
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries or scripts for data integration, plan logic, and reporting
  • Troubleshoot and resolve commission discrepancies or calculation errors
  • Conduct UAT and participate in QA cycles for plan changes and updates
  • Support month-end and quarter-end commission processing cycles
  • Prepare compensation insights via dashboards, reports, and analytics from CaptivateIQ
  • Complete projects and enable new functionality across platforms
  • Provide expert-level support to end-users, troubleshooting issues and providing timely resolutions
  • Documenting and following formal policies, procedures, and protocols for changes
  • Assisting in the data import process and migration
  • Collaborating with different departments and business disciplines for coordination
  • Responsible for delivering relevant reports and KPIs to users
  • Ensuring the maintenance of system updates
  • Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking

The Job

The Sales Systems Admin, Business Systems reports to the Hire to Retire Product Owner and fills a key role on the Business Systems team at SimpliSafe. This critical role will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, optimization, and support of our Field Sales systems - CaptivateIQ and Knockbase as well as our Workday Adaptive Planning platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise, functional understanding, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and deliver a best-in-class employee and stakeholder experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Configure, test, and maintain sales commission plans and reporting in our commission platform, CaptivateIQ
  • Translate compensation plan documentation into system logic and workflows.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations, Finance, and our People Team to gather requirements and validate plan structures.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries or scripts to support data integration, plan logic, and reporting
  • Troubleshoot and resolve commission discrepancies or calculation errors.
  • Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and participate in QA cycles for plan changes and updates
  • Support month-end and quarter-end commission processing cycles
  • Prepare compensation insights to be shared with cross-functional teams via dashboards, reports and analytics from CaptivateIQ
  • Complete projects and enable new functionality across these platforms
  • Provide expert-level support to end-users for all assigned systems, troubleshooting issues and providing timely resolutions.
  • Documenting, and following formal policies, procedures, and protocols for changes, customization, standards, usage, etc.
  • Assisting in the data import process and migration.
  • Collaborating with different departments and business disciplines for coordination.
  • Responsible for delivering relevant reports and KPIs to users.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of system updates.
  • Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience working as a system administrator or analyst supporting enterprise applications
  • 1-3 years of Workday Adaptive Planning experience
  • Must have commission and/or Sales Ops experience
  • CaptivateIQ and/or Knockbase experience a plus
  • Knowledge of system development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of data integration principles and experience with system integrations
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Proven ability working independently with minimal guidance
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Monday.com) is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Suite and Google Workspace
  • Experience with SQL or other data querying languages
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
