Job Details

Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played video game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience.

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints.

That's where you come in.

As Technical Producers on Wild Rift at Riot, we lead global game teams to build the best in class Mobile MOBA experience leading the MOBA genre. We influence decisions, drive implementation, obliterate obstacles, and relentless push projects across the finish line. We exceed expectations by helping concept, deliver, enhance, and influence projects at every stage of production.

As a Senior Technical Producer within the Wild Rift team, you will use your exceptional technical knowledge and program management skills to drive progress, increase player experience within your product area while aligning key stakeholders. You will join a passionate team of product managers, producers, designers, and engineers on a mission to the best mobile League of Legends experience loved by millions of players around the world.

To reinforce Riot’s collaborative culture in our China offices, we’ve decided to do away with the constraints of traditional hierarchical title structures that are more common in the region. Titles don’t really matter at any of Riot’s offices, but we chose to take this extra step in our China offices to foster a space where teamwork thrives. We believe that removing this constraint will promote individual autonomy, ownership, collaboration, and a focus on results. We promise you won’t need a title at Riot to make an impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Align highly autonomous teams towards complex multi-year goals while meeting the operational needs of current customers
  • You will help lead technical strategy, design and implementation to support feature development, build and deployment, integration with Riot's Player Platform services and operation on Riot's worldwide infrastructure.
  • Regularly assess the team's maturity, health, and composition, relentlessly striving for cohesion and delivery excellence
  • Manage, plan, and track production and development schedules and workflows, while raising risks, managing trade-offs, and eliminating blockers
  • Continuously assess a team's current situation and adapt planning tools, Agile methodologies, and communication channels to ensure successful, sustainable delivery
  • Create transparency and predictability via roadmaps, cycle times, value stream maps, and release reports

Required Qualifications:

  • Educated and experienced: you have earned your bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another technically-oriented degree or equivalent practical experience
  • You spent time working as a developer, product manager, before acquiring 7+ years of experience working with teams as a Producer, or Development Manager building mobile games, or user facing mobile products.
  • Process-driven: you have a broad toolkit that supports creative product discovery, defined process optimization, and value stream mapping
  • An Agile pro: you're fluent in an avid advocate of development best practices; you've successfully led teams using a variety of practices including but not limited to: Scrum, Kanban and Lean Product Management; you take a holistic, systems-thinking view of the product development lifecycle and adapt processes accordingly
  •  A delivery-focused leader: you guide teams down the right paths even if they're unpopular or difficult to traverse to ensure they provide optimal value; your unshakeable confidence and cool head make others look towards you when sirens are blaring and all hell is breaking loose. You lead product delivery in software or infrastructure; you take technical concepts continuously through ideation, planning, development, release, and maintenance
  • A motivational mentor: you keep teams focused on results, growth and actionable feedback; you're emotionally attuned to others and are open about your own feelings, which helps you resolve conflicts quickly, comfortably, and respectfully
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple organizations and generate alignment on technical standards and guide technical decisions
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior engineering experience
  • Experience working on around game systems, privacy/security, game client, operating live services games, or infrastructure
  • Experience balancing work between new development and regular updates to a live service
  • Experience co-developing features with external development partners
  • Experience working with global teams across time zones and languages

Don’t forget to include a resume and cover letter. We receive a lot of applications, but we’ll notice a fun, well-written intro that shows us you take play seriously.

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise and a collaborative spirit that prioritizes the delight of players. We will look at your past studies and experience, but for this role, we also look for dedicated people with a personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this is the role for you!

Our Perks:

Riot Games fosters a player and workplace experience that values teamwork embodied by the Summoner's Code and Community Code. Our culture embraces differences as a strength, and our values are the guiding principles for how we approach work. We are committed to putting diversity and inclusion (D&I) at the center of everything we do, and promoting a fair and collaborative culture where Rioters treat one another with dignity and respect. We encourage you to read more about our value of thriving together and our ongoing work to build the most inclusive company in gaming.
