Job Description

As a Software Engineering Manager at Google, you'll lead a team of software engineers, manage projects, and contribute to product strategy. You'll have the technical expertise to provide leadership on major projects and ensure engineers are optimizing their code. You'll also be responsible for career development of team members and creating an inclusive and safe environment for your team to thrive.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8 years of software development experience
  • 3 years of technical leadership experience
  • 2 years of team leadership experience
Good to have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, a technical related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
