ARVORE seeks a Sound Designer to create immersive sound experiences for their VR games. The role involves designing high-quality in-game audio assets, collaborating with various teams (directors, producers, technical/creative teams, and external audio teams), implementing dynamic audio systems using middleware (FMOD and MetaSounds), optimizing audio file sizes and formats, and documenting audio-related information. Responsibilities include creating impactful sound effects, mixing and mastering audio, and ensuring sound quality and cohesion across projects. The ideal candidate possesses vast experience in sound design for interactive digital experiences, utilizing synthesis and foley, and a strong understanding of audio middleware and optimization techniques.
Must have:
  • Vast experience in creating original sound effects for interactive digital experiences
  • Experience with middleware and dynamic audio (FMOD, MetaSounds)
  • Knowledge of compression, audio file formats, and optimization
  • Experience in mixing and mastering audio for interactive media

JOB DESCRIPTION 

WORKING HOURS: Full Time 


The Sound Designer at ARVORE is responsible for creating immersive and engaging sound experiences for our games. This professional works closely with the development team, using their expertise in sound design to enhance the narrative, atmosphere and gameplay of games. Your responsibilities include creating impactful sound effects, and efficiently implementing these elements into the game environment. Furthermore, the Sound Designer actively participates in the prototyping and review phases, ensuring sound quality and cohesion in all aspects of the projects.


MAIN CROSS-FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Design high-quality in-game audio assets and supplementary audio content, as well as planning, creating, and implementing game audio systems. 
  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and technical/creative teams to understand the vision and requirements for the project's sound.
  • Facilitate collaboration with external audio teams, serving as a liaison between them and your project's team.
  • Use middleware tools to implement and mix dynamic audio systems.
  • Enhance the quality and reduce the size of audio files by selecting optimal extensions and compression formats, thereby ensuring each project achieves optimized size without compromising sound quality.
  • Comprehensively document all audio-related information within a project in a structured manner, ensuring ease of access for the team to reference when needed.


MUST HAVE:

  • Vast experience in creating original sound effects for interactive digital experiences, using tools like synthesis and foley.
  • Experience in working with middleware and dynamic audio, using tools like FMOD and MetaSounds.
  • Knowledge about compression and audio file formats and how to optimize them.
  • Experience in mixing and mastering audio for interactive media.
