Junior Payroll Specialist (Maternity Leave Cover)

In this role you will be responsible for supporting timely and accurate delivery of payroll calculations for designated Service Line(s) in compliance with local laws. Under supervision you will do calculations of all mandatory deductions within required deadlines. You will ensure payroll system is updated on time and in an accurate manner to ensure correct payroll calculations. You will also respond to simple payroll related queries submitted by employees.

• Some experience in calculating payroll
• Understanding of how payroll systems work
• Demonstrated highest standards (accuracy, timeliness to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations)
• Ability to collaboratively work within a team to deliver clear results
• Solid verbal and written communication skills required including business writing skills in English while interacting with employees and business partners on simple payroll related queries are essential
• Demonstrated interest and ambition to grow in the payroll profession
• Ability to articulate and communicate with clients in a concise and professional manner
• Ability to propose solution to problems rather than just asking for help

Duties and Responsibles

• Ensures timely, accurate and compliant payroll tasks delivery including performing gross to net calculations;
• Supports inputs to payroll via data uploads, and manual data entry;
• Provides basic reports related to Payroll processes; internal, external, statutory reporting and filing to authorities (PEFRON);
• Responds to simple payroll queries applying FIFO mindset in Jira and handles sensitive information;
• Actively builds and maintains good partnership with stakeholders;
• Performs tasks in compliance with company policies relating to payroll to ensure requirements are followed consistently and in full for each payroll cycle;
• Performs basic tasks in compliance with employment legislation, data protection and control risk within payroll function;
• Keeps up to date with changes in local payroll and tax legislation;
• Provides administrative support to the payroll team as required
• Undertakes any other duties as reasonably expected for the role
