As VALORANT's Principal Producer, you will lead initiatives and execute solutions for integrated, complex production needs. You will be the catalyst for strong partnerships across various disciplines and crucial to elevating the game for players. Responsibilities include leading game production, resolving development challenges, driving production craft improvements, and ensuring stakeholders are up-to-date. The role demands strong leadership, solution-oriented thinking, and the ability to drive efficiency and accountability. The candidate will work in a dynamic large team environment.
Must have:
  • 9+ years of production leadership experience in game development.
  • 7+ years of game development leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of direct or indirect management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of games and gaming industry.
  • Experience leading in ambiguous collaborative environments.
  • Experience with product management and prioritization schemes.
  • Ability to balance project and company strategy.
  • Experience translating product vision into production planning.
Good to have:
  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership role of a live-service shooter.
  • Passion for and knowledge of the Valorant game and IP.
  • Experience building cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing other managers/principals.
  • Experience in live service and frequent release environment.

Job Details

VALORANT is Riot’s take on a character-based tactical shooter (for more info on VALORANT - click here!). As we grow as a multi-platform game, we need a Principal Production role to manage and drive the day to day production and development needed to meet the demands of our live game players’ experiences.

As VALORANT’s Principal Producer, you’ll be one of the most senior production leaders on VALORANT. You’ll lead initiatives and execute solutions for  integrated, complex production needs across the game. In this role, you will be the catalyst for strong partnerships between all of our critical discipline connections within VAL tac. The VALORANT Principal Producer is critical to the way we leverage the production craft across the Game organization and provides practical solutions that allow us to elevate the game for our players.

Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Champion and lead game production progress and critical game development challenge resolution across Teams and Areas
  • Can help lead a team of producers and ensure elevated production craft excellence with systems and rituals. Will identify and model senior craft competencies and behaviors. Be able to evaluate needed evolution of VALORANT Game process, roles, and responsibilities with healthy change management principles and trusted advanced communication skills

Solutions 

  • Accelerate and lead VALORANT’s teams to mutually beneficial production outcomes. Align both strategy and delivery to ensure progress towards the goals of the product.
  • Leverage high-level systems thinking to identify critical path issues, remove roadblocks,  propose and enact effective and timely stable solutions, and drive efficiency and accountability in execution

Production

  • Accountable for developing and executing production craft improvements across the live game team, with focus on leadership and integration
  • Hold game teams accountable to–and provide support in–making decisions, meeting commitments, and adding acceleration and focus when needed

Integration and Communication

  • Recommend and create systems that act as integration point between key senior production lead and VALORANT program needs
  • Ensure internal stakeholders are appropriately up-to-date on current production overviews, team impacts, active connected projects, and relevant areas of responsibility

Required Qualifications

  • 9+ years of production leadership experience in a dynamic large team cross discipline game or software development dynamic environment
  • 7+ years of game development leadership experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership role shipping games (Principal / Lead Producer, Production Director, Head of Production, Operations Lead, etc.)
  • 5+ years of direct or indirect management experience
  • Deep knowledge of games, relevant gaming audiences, and the gaming industry
  • Experience leading and functioning in ambiguous, collaborative environments with team members of several levels and disciplines
  • Experience maintaining excellent relationships with various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability in product management and using prioritization schemes
  • Experience translating product vision into production planning and executional leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully balance project strategy considerations with company strategy considerations

Desired Qualifications

  • Substantial experience (4+ years) in a leadership role of a large (top 5), live-service shooter product
  • Passion for and knowledge of the Valorant game and IP
  • Experience building and leading cross-disciplinary teams responsible for games from pre-production to shipping
  • Experience managing other managers and/or principals
  • Experience leading a successful game in a live service and frequent release environment
