Job Description

The Sales Consultant (Employee Benefits) role focuses on new business development within SME organizations. The consultant will primarily work virtually using platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams, with some phone interactions. This position is not a cold-calling role, as leads are primarily provided. The consultant will manage multiple new business projects, lead client meetings to understand requirements, and deliver solutions. The role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive team and provides support for industry qualifications like IF7 (Healthcare), GR1 (Protection) & IF1 (General Insurance). This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week working in the Bristol office.
Must have:
  • Previous customer relationship/sales based experience
  • Strong relationship building and excellent communication skills
  • Ambitious nature and keen contributor in team environment
  • Strong IT skills, preferably Microsoft programs
  • Good levels of education including GCSE Maths and English
  • Willingness to develop and progress

Sales Consultant (Employee Benefits) - Salary + attractive bonus package

Mercer Marsh Benefits ™ have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as an Employee Benefits Sales Consultant.

The role is focussed on new business development, within SME organisations. You will work mainly virtually via zoom or team with some phone work but this is not a cold-calling role with the majority of leads provided. Note: This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week working in our Bristol office.

We will count on you to:

  • Once fully trained, compliant and competent, you will manage multiple new business projects, across multiple lines of business
  • Using your excellent communication skills, you will be able to lead client meetings asking open & closed questions to understand customer requirements and deliver solutions to cater for their needs.

What you need to have: 

  • Previous customer relationship/sales based experience
  • Strong relationship building skills and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • An ambitious nature and a keen contributor within a team environment
  • Strong IT skills, preferably in Microsoft programs including Excel, Office and Word.
  • Good levels of education including Grade C/4 or 5 pts GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to develop and progress
