Job Description

As Sales Director Pro Germany, you are responsible for the maintenance and expansion of POLITICO's Professional Services business ("Pro") in Germany – with a clear focus on revenue growth, customer retention, and market development. You act as a central interface between the international POLITICO Pro Teams in Brussels and Washington, D.C. and the German POLITICO team within Axel Springer's PREMIUM GROUP.
Must have:
  • Strategically develop Pro business with focus on cross- and upselling.
  • Manage key accounts and develop value-added solutions.
  • Identify market opportunities, build sales pipeline, close deals.
  • Introduce new products and manage their positioning.
  • Represent POLITICO at events in Germany and Brussels.
  • Work self-organized, entrepreneurially, impact business success.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, optimize processes and tools.
  • Proven sales success in complex B2B products, political environment.
  • Strong hunter mentality, strategic thinking, hands-on approach.
  • Work independently, solution-oriented in international environments.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to Brussels and Germany.
  • Experience with complex stakeholder structures.
  • Very good German and English language skills.

  • you identify market opportunities, build a sales pipeline, and close deals

  • you represent POLITICO at events in Germany and Brussels
  • you work self-organized, entrepreneurially, and directly impact business success
  • you coordinate with internal teams and optimize processes and tools

What you bring:

  • you can demonstrate success in sales of complex products, ideally in the B2B sector, preferably even in a political environment
  • you possess a strong hunter mentality combined with strategic thinking and a hands-on approach
  • you work independently and solution-oriented – you feel comfortable in structurally flexible and international environments
  • you are willing to travel regularly to Brussels as well as to customer appointments and events within Germany
  • you have experience in dealing with complex stakeholder structures
  • you have knowledge of or interest in the political system and relevant actors in Germany
  • your German and English language skills are very good, both written and spoken
