Job Description
As a Senior QA Software Engineer at Extreme Networks, you will be responsible for testing leading-edge Wi-Fi products and solutions. Your role involves participating in the entire test cycle with a focus on automation testing for both on-prem and Cloud-based WiFi products. You will create test strategies and plans, collaborate with the Engineering team to analyze requirements and implement use cases into the automated test framework, and monitor, execute, and publish test results. This includes documenting test results, filing defect reports and change requests, and collaborating with product development and test teams to resolve problems. A key aspect is reviewing product documentation and functional specifications to ensure quality delivery.
Must have:
- 5+ years of industry experience in networking or related field
- Strong understanding of networking technologies and concepts
- Experience with WiFi standards (802.11b/g/n/ac/ax)
- Solid experience with REST API testing and automation
- Familiarity with Robot Framework, Selenium, Jenkins, GIT, Python
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good to have:
- Familiarity with WLAN advanced security protocols (802.1x, WPA, WPA2, WPA3) and RADIUS protocol
- Familiar with Agile development and testing processes

Job Summary
As part of the Extreme Networks Software Quality Assurance team, this talented and highly motivated Senior QA Engineer will help in delivering leading-edge Wi-Fi products and solutions. This position plays an important role in the quality assurance testing of our on-prem and Cloud-based WiFi products and requires participation in the entire test cycle, with emphasis on automation testing
Role (What you will do)
- Create test strategies and test plans to validate features, as well as support efforts in automation testing.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team on analyzing requirements and implement the use cases into the automated test framework.
- Monitor, execute, and publish test results using the framework.
- Quality delivery of assigned tasks, according to the processes specified for product test and solution test.
- Document test results, filing defect reports and change requests.
- Collaborating with product development and test teams to investigate and resolve problem reports.
- Review product documentation and functional specifications.
Qualifications (Who you are...)
- 5+ years of industry experience in networking or related field
- Strong understanding of networking technologies and concepts, OSI Model, TCP/IP, LAN switching, IP routing and Ethernet networks
- Experience with and understanding of WiFi standards (802.11b/g/n/ac/ax)
- Familiarity with WLAN advanced security protocols (802.1x, WPA, WPA2, WPA3) and RADIUS protocol a plus.
- Good understanding of Operating system concepts (Unix/Linux and Windows) and network applications, including services such as DHCP, DNS, SSH, RADIUS, LDAP, IPSec, CA)
- Solid experience with REST API testing and automation
- Familiarity with the following tools, frameworks, and languages - Robot Framework, Selenium, Jenkins, GIT, Python.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with Agile development and testing processes
Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
LOCATION: Ontario, Canada location: position is based at our Thornhill site in Toronto and not budgeted for relocation. Qualified local candidates (and those planning to move to the area) are encouraged to apply.
