Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at Autodesk, you will be part of the Fusion Modelling team in Pune, India. You'll be part of a scrum team and contribute to delivering the best CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB software on a cloud-based platform. Your responsibilities include writing, testing, and maintaining high-quality code, contributing to system design, reviewing code, guiding junior engineers, and working with cross-functional teams. You will troubleshoot and resolve software defects, write technical documentation, and stay updated with emerging technologies. You'll also participate in sprint planning and take ownership of specific features. The role requires flexibility and proactive responses in an Agile environment to foster trust and inclusion within the team.
Must have:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • Fluent in C++ programming language
  • Expertise in programming and debugging
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming
Good to have:
  • Experience in Compute Aided Design (CAD)
  • Familiar with cross-platform application development
  • Experience with API and SDK development
  • Experience with Qt library, CMake, and Python

This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic team located in Pune, India. We are seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer to join the Fusion Modelling team within our Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. In this role, you will part of a Pune-based scrum team and help us fulfil our mission to deliver the best software for our users CAD, CAM, CAE and PCB needs in a single, integrated cloud software platform. You will use your software programming skills to implement the next generation features and functionalities in our product and work with a world-class software engineering team. 

Responsibilities 

  • Write, test, and maintain high-quality code across the software development lifecycle

  • Contribute to designing system components, features, and architectures under the guidance of experienced engineers and architects

  • Review peer code to ensure adherence to best practices and maintainability

  • Provide guidance to more junior engineers and assist in their technical growth

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Experience Designers, Quality Assurance and have experience in working with distributed teams 

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects or production issues

  • Write and maintain technical documentation

  • Follow company coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices

  • Take ownership of specific features or components from conception to delivery

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute new ideas to the team

  • Participate in sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of tasks

  • Willingness to learn and expand the technical breadth and depth, developing T-shaped skills 

  • Be flexible, proactive and respond quickly to multiple priorities under changing conditions and Agile process environment 

  • Promote a culture of trust, respect and inclusion within your team 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or a related field

  • 7+ years software development experience 

  • Fluent in C++

  • Expertise in programming, debugging and problem-solving 

  • Familiar with Design Patterns and Object-Oriented programming skills 

  • Knowledge of advanced data structures, algorithms, and STL 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in Compute Aided Design (CAD) desktop application development 

  • Familiar with cross-platform application development

  • Experience with API and SDK development 

  • Experience with the Qt library, CMake and Python would be a bonus
