Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will design, implement, and operate the server and service infrastructure for RENNSPORT, an upcoming online racing simulator. You will collaborate with the team to ensure a great online experience for players. Responsibilities include designing scalable infrastructure, managing deployment pipelines, monitoring and optimizing services, working with developers, and managing incidents. The role requires self-organization, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for distributed systems and automation. The team is remote-first with a fast-paced environment, offering flexibility and opportunities for growth.
Must have:
  • Design and implement scalable online infrastructure
  • Manage and automate deployment pipelines
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize online services
  • Experience in distributed systems maintenance
  • Automation and orchestration expertise
Good to have:
  • Experience with IaaS such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Azure
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with Containers and workload orchestrators such as Kubernetes, Nomad, etc.
  • Passion or desire to work with the Go programming language
  • Experience with Terraform, Grafana, ArgoCD

Job Details

Introduction

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be part of the online team for our upcoming online racing simulator, RENNSPORT. Your primary role will be to design, implement and operate RENNSPORT's server and service infrastructure. You will work closely with stakeholders in the team and within the Competition Company group to help ship a great online experience for our players.  

This is a permanent remote position based around Malmö, Sweden or Munich, Germany. We do not require on-site presence but definitely welcome it - travel to one of our office locations may be required periodically.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing a scalable and resilient online infrastructure

  • Managing and automating the deployment pipeline of online services

  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing online services 

  • Redefining deployment/debugging workflows and technology stacks to meet ambitious goals

  • Working closely with game developers and backend programmers on related initiatives

  • Managing incidents and partake in the on-call rotation

Your profile
  • You can self-organize and are comfortable working autonomously on a short time scale 

  • You can take factual, data-driven decisions and convey your ideas clearly and concisely to other team members, peers or stakeholders

  • You enjoy working with a small close team, open to new ideas, learning opportunities and experimentation

  • You are curiosity driven and not afraid to approach problems by thinking outside the box 

  • You have experience in designing, analyzing, maintaining and troubleshooting distributed systems 

  • Automation and orchestration are the only ways you approach systems implementation and maintenance  

You will probably enjoy this position if you like working with:
