Role Overview:
This position will be based out of the Dallas or Houston area and cover the following territories: Dallas, Houston, OK City, Tulsa)
As a District Manager, you will oversee and lead retail operations across multiple Walmart and Target locations within an assigned geography. The role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and delivering on KPIs. The District Manager must be a hands-on, results-driven leader who takes ownership and excels at retail merchandising and training, coaching and leading people.
A day in the life of a District Manager:
Leadership & Management:
· Supervise 20 retail merchandisers across multiple locations within the district.
· Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to promote employee engagement and retention.
· Conduct regular store visits and perform performance evaluations to ensure compliance with company and organizational standards.
Operational Excellence:
· Oversee day-to-day field operations, account management and customer service.
· Ensure that your team meets or exceeds KPI benchmarks and company policies.
· Maintain RMO standards of excellence across all territories and accounts.
District Performance:
· Monitor survey results, productivity; develop strategies to improve performance and meet district-level goals.
· Analyze district reports and photos and identify trends, challenges, and opportunities to drive POS.
· Handle monthly district service coverage and travel budget.
Recruiting, Training Development:
· Recruit, hire, and train new merchandisers to fill territory openings in a timely manner.
· Identify training needs and ensure ongoing staff development to enhance individual and team performance.
· Conduct quarterly in-store merchandiser work sessions with all direct reports.
What you'll bring:
· 5-7 years’ Experience in retail management or merchandising with a focus on leading teams.
· 3 years’ Experience in a Management role where you have been responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and leading a field merchandising team.
· Previous experience working with Walmart and/or Target accounts is strongly preferred
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a diverse team.
· Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution abilities.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Experience with Walmart’s VOLT application and TGT Zebra device a plus.
· Ability to travel overnight and within the district as needed.
· Ability to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders, stand, bend, and engage in physical activity as needed to ensure products are properly merchandised.
· Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of car insurance, and a good DMV record.
· Must live within the parameters of the assigned territory.
Compensation Range (USD)
Starting: $71,000
Ending: $143,500
