Job Description

Brainrider is seeking a Global Community Manager with strong experience in community management and website maintenance. The role involves assisting with the development and upkeep of studio websites and supporting community management initiatives for Oculus Studios. The manager will foster a vibrant community by collaborating with other community managers, developing and maintaining studio websites, troubleshooting technical issues, implementing updates, and developing new website features using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Responsibilities also include supporting web analytics, SEO, creating visual assets, managing player communications via newsletters and social media, and producing engaging community content. The ideal candidate will manage and moderate feedback channels, work autonomously, and be proficient in Google Suite tools.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of experience in community management
  • 2+ years of experience in website development and maintenance
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Resourceful and proactive problem-solver
  • Comfortable working autonomously
  • Proficient in Google Suite tools

The Role


Job Title: Global Community Manager

Length: 12 months

Estimated Start: September

Location: Remote, PST preferred

Hourly Pay Range: $35-40


Brainrider is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Manager with a strong background in both community management and website maintenance to join our client-embedded team. In this role, you will assist with the development and upkeep of the client's studio websites while supporting various community management initiatives. You will collaborate closely with other Community Managers on the Oculus Studios Shared Services team to foster a vibrant and engaged community.


What you'll do

  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of multiple studio static websites
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve bugs to ensure website stability and security
  • Implement updates and patches to maintain website security and performance
  • Develop new website features and functionality using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as needed
  • Support web analytics and apply SEO principles to enhance website performance and user experience
  • Assist in creating visual assets such as graphics, banners, and icons to boost community engagement and branding
  • Support player communication strategies, including email newsletters, in-game messaging, and social media announcements
  • Collaborate with game developers to produce engaging community content, including blog posts, videos, and live streams
  • Manage and moderate community feedback channels, including forums, social media platforms, and email communications

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in community management or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in static website development and maintenance
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Resourceful and proactive in identifying problems and creating effective solutions
  • Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Google Suite tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets)
