Who are we hiring?

 The Manager Accounting is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations related to the Company’s Food, Beverage & Merchandise (FB&M) business, the monthly closing process, account analysis, quarterly external, internal, and tax reporting packages. The Manager is also responsible for providing accounting support to the business operators and P&L leaders along with their respective departments at the Sphere.

What will you do? 

  • Responsible for all aspects of the accounting for food, beverage and merchandising transactions as relate to Sphere’s live, marquee and productions events including posting of revenue and accrual entries, analysis and reconciliation of P&L and balance sheet accounts by event.
  • Review & analysis of the posting of sales/COGS activity from our inventory system to the general ledger, the analysis of key balance sheet accounts, the review of analyses prepared by the staff and the analysis of food & merchandise event detail to ensure proper accounting.
  • Drive change with respect to the F&B systems and close/reconciliation process.
  • Provide support to External Reporting and Tax groups for quarterly and annual disclosures
  • Assist and support the Director of Venue Operations Accounting

What do you need to succeed? 

  • Communication Skills – must present themselves in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated flexibility – must be able to juggle various projects and be willing to change projects as needed.
  • High Energy and Commitment – must display a positive, confident assertive personality and be able to work on projects until completion.
  • Detail Orientated – must be driven and have a desire to research and resolve variances.
  • Must be a change agent and drive business & operational changes as we review current processes & scope of work performed by the group.
  • Advanced Excel, analytical, accounting, and financial skills are required.
  • Experience with monthly closes process, preferably at a public company.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • The individual in this position must be a self-starter, be organized, have a sense of urgency and a dedicated team player.
  • 4+ years’ experience and a Bachelor’s degree required (in Finance/Accounting preferred), CPA strongly preferred.
  • Approximately 2 direct reports

Pay Range
$83,000$145,000 USD
