Team, about the role
The Senior Release Automation Engineer plays a key role in ensuring seamless game updates and high-quality releases through automation, CI/CD optimization, and build stability. This position is crucial for delivering smooth, error-free updates to millions of players by enhancing infrastructure, refining workflows, and eliminating manual inefficiencies.
Right now, we’re looking for an engineer to join us on Gardenscapes, the world’s leading game with 20+ million players, ensuring its updates are delivered reliably and efficiently.
Our team consists of three release engineers and a lead, working closely with the larger development team and CI specialists. We collaborate across disciplines to fine-tune releases, improve automation, and integrate with app stores.
Tasks

Release and Deployment Management – Oversee the full game update cycle, from build validation and packaging to deployment in app stores. Manage branching strategies, versioning, and rollback mechanisms to ensure a controlled release process.
- CI/CD Pipeline Optimization – Maintain and improve TeamCity-based CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast, stable, and scalable delivery processes. Analyze pipeline efficiency, resolve build failures, and work closely with the CI team to implement cross-project automation solutions.

Infrastructure and Stability – Monitor and optimize build system performance, crash rates, and deployment success metrics using tools like Grafana. Investigate release-related incidents, automate monitoring, and enhance overall system reliability.
- Automation and Workflow Enhancement – Develop Python-based automation tools to eliminate manual tasks in build validation, submission checks, and configuration updates. Improve efficiency across the entire release process.

Cross-Team Collaboration – Work with developers, QA, and CI engineers to align on best practices for build integrity, testing automation, and deployment strategies. Ensure smooth integration of game updates into live production environments.

Requirements

Proficiency in Russian language

Total experience of 5+ years in DevOps, development, or automation roles in similar positions

Experience with CI/CD tools and building CI/CD pipelines

Knowledge of Linux/Windows/macOS at the level of basic administration, bash scripting

Automation skills using Python (junior+)

Strong knowledge of Git
